Drake may have reignited his feud with Kanye West.
The two previously disagreed with Drake’s claims that he slept with Yeezy’s owner’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian— a claim they both denied.
Now the Toronto rapper’s new track, “Rescue Me,” samples audio of the SKIMS co-founder talking about his divorce from rapper Donda and has mouths agape once again.
In the past, Drake has also named his dumped exes in some of his songs, including singers SZA and Jennifer Lopez.

‘I Didn’t Come This Far’

Per Page SixDrake appeared to insult Kanye West in his latest song, “Rescue Me,” which he previewed Friday on “The Fry Yiy Show” on SiriusXM’s Sound 42.
Although the “Nice for What” singer didn’t name her fellow rapper in the song, she did sample audio of West’s ex, Kim Kardashian, discussing their divorce in one of the episodes of their former reality series “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”
“I didn’t come this far just to go this far and not be happy. Remember that,” the reality star said at the time, referencing her troubled marriage to the “Donda” rapper.
Drake has yet to explain why he added Kim Kardashian’s dialogue, although it is widely assumed that it was related to allegations that he slept with the Skims founder.
The rumor sparked a huge fight between Drake and West at the time, and it seems the former has no qualms with his current track rekindling the drama.
Kanye West Slams Drake Over His Affair Claims

Kardashian disputed the rumours, while West stated the two never had an affair. However, West later criticized Drake for appearing as if he was having an affair with his wife and allowing the rumor to spread widely.
“You act the way you do,” West said of his fellow rapper in a 2021 interview on “Drink Champs.” “It’s like someone throwing marbles and hiding their hand.”
However, in October 2022, West appeared to hint that their feud was over after Drake “liked” his post amid backlash from his controversial show in Paris.
“EVERYONE KNOWS ME AND DRAKE HAD A COMPETITION BEFORE IT WARMED MY HEART TO SEE DRAKE LIKE ONE OF MY POSTS. [sic],” Ye wrote on Instagram, adding that Drake’s music will be played at his now-defunct school, Donda Academy’s basketball team.
Meanwhile, neither West nor Kardashian have publicly commented on Drake’s use of dialogue in his songs.
Drake Has Named A Dumped Ex-Girlfriend In His Song
MEGA
Drake’s use of Kardashian’s dialogue isn’t surprising, given his penchant for mentioning ex-girlfriends in his songs. He claims that he’s dating “Kill Bill” singer SZA in his song “Mr. Now,” which drops in 2021.
“Yeah, he said he wanted to some SZA, wait / Cause I dated SZA in ’08,” a line from the track reads.
The rapper’s relationship with singer and actress Jennifer Lopez also appears to be referenced in “Diplomatic Immunity,” where Drake raps, “2010 is when I lost halo/2017, I lost J.”
He also mentioned his first girlfriend and singer, Keshia Chanté, and a woman named “KiKi,” in his hit song “In My Feelings.”
Drake Regrets Using Ex’s Name In His Song
MEGA
In a recent appearance on Lil Yachty’s “A Moody Conversation,” Drake revealed that he regrets dropping his ex’s name, adding that he also regrets calling out the older rapper.
“I think so, and sometimes when I’ve mentioned a girl’s name in a song, maybe those are two things that I look back on, and I’m like, ‘Maybe I can do it without, like, sh–ing at people because of age or bothering someone’s life,’” said the 36-year-old.
He added that one of his ex-girlfriends had warned him that his actions could ruin their lives, especially their relationships with other people.
She recalled her ex saying, “’You don’t know who my boyfriend was at the time, or you don’t know what my family knows or doesn’t know. And if you express any form of displeasure for me and call me names in a song, then suddenly, I’m left to take part in my own life that I’ve tried to build for myself.’ “
