Miley Cyrus knows a thing or two about reinventing herself!
The 30-year-old entertainer has become one of the most recognizable figures in popular culture over the past two decades. Cyrus’ commitment to constantly reviving her career has undoubtedly contributed to her legacy.
The former “Hannah Montana” star is a far cry from her Disney days when she was best known for Hannah’s signature blonde wig. For her last album, 2020’s “Plastic Hearts,” Cyrus channeled famous rockers from the 1980s, with a similar style to Blondie frontwoman Debbie Harry, and also enlisted musicians from that era to contribute to the LP; Billy Idol and Joan Jett are both credited on the album.
Before “Plastic Hearts,” he channeled the sun-kissed, Malibu-inspired vibes of his single of the same name for the album “Younger Now.”
Cyrus has created her fair share of ‘bangerz’ over the years that have been closely associated with reinventing her era, and it looks like she’s in no rush to slow down!
Billboard photos teasing a new era in his career have started popping up around the world. Cyrus, herself, tended to the anticipation by teasing the idea on her social media accounts as well!

She’ll be ringing in the new year with her godmother, country music legend Dolly Parton! Cyrus and Parton have met several times in Cyrus’ professional life. Parton appeared on “Hannah Montana” several times, and Cyrus covered Parton’s 1974 hit, “Jolene.”
According to The Blast’s report on the couple’s appearance on Cyrus’ upcoming New Year’s Eve special, the special will air on NBC on December 31.
Cyrus has memorialized her late friend Taylor Hawkins several times in 2022.
He was scheduled to perform with The Foo Fighters in March at the Estéreo Picnic Festival in Bogata, Columbia earlier this year. The band will not perform at the festival following Hawkins’ death. Hawkins was found dead in a hotel room in Columbia on March 25. He is 50 years old.
Cyrus dedicated her first live performance after Hawkins’ death to her memory. She tearfully performed “Angels Like You” from “Plastic Hearts” for Hawkins during her set at Lollapalooza.
