Many followers shared their thoughts on her original decision and her change of heart in the comments section.

“I know you have good intentions to take care of your other employees, but I think this is the right move. This will help everyone overall when they finally give up. I am proud of you! I know this is a very difficult decision,” wrote one.

Another added, “All of this could have been avoided if you had prepared creatively from the beginning, your poor decision has created a ripple effect with other shows now looking for ways to sidestep the strike and it is certainly damaging to your brand. Glad you are reaching this realization now but it is costing you.”

A fan shared why her decision to put the show on hiatus was right for everyone.

“This is certainly the right choice on MANY levels. You grew up in this industry. You KNOW how important it is to stand in solidarity with writers until the strike is over. Your presentation won’t last long if you go ahead with the prime. This is definitely the best way to do what’s best for writers and everyone in the industry going forward. STRENGTH IN NUMBERS! ??”

“I don’t know what to say because sometimes when things are so difficult, it’s hard to make decisions from that place so all I can say is that I want to accept responsibility. And no, I don’t have a PR machine behind this,” he explained.

“My decision to come back to the show, I don’t want to hide behind people, so I won’t, and I won’t gloss over this with bells and whistles and publicity and corporate rhetoric. I’m just going to stand out there and accept and take responsibility.”

He went on to explain how he didn’t expect the attention he received for his decision to film new episodes during the strike and said, “this is bigger than me.”

“I want to do this because like I said, this is bigger than me and there are other people’s jobs online. And since launching live in a pandemic, I just want to make a show that’s there for people in a sensitive time,” he continued.

“And I weighed the scales and I thought, if we can continue during the global pandemic, and everything the world has been through until 2020, why would this put us off? So, I just want to put one foot in front of the other and put on a show that’s right for the people, regardless of anything else that’s going on in the world because that’s when I think we all need something that wants to be there, to be very realistic in very realistic time. So that’s my reason.”
