The singer piqued the interest of fans when she confirmed that she will appear in the upcoming live-action “Barbie” movie, which will be released in July 2023, in addition to seeing her character. The excitement doubled when the “One Kiss” singer uploaded a preview of her character wearing a blue mermaid costume. “This Barbie is a mermaid!!” caption tweets quickly gained 156k likes, with over 700 people bookmarking it for future reference.

Per Deadline, Gosling and Robbie will lead the cast as Ken and Barbie, with Gerwig sitting in the director’s chair. Additionally, the film will be distributed globally by Warner Bros. Pictures and released in theaters only in the United States on July 21, following an international release on July 19.
