Last week, Johnson took to Twitter to explain to fans why Cavill made an unexpected cameo in “Black Adam” as Superman.
In the video, the former professional wrestler explained that the “Enola Holmes” star had to return to create the ultimate clash between two super-powered beings that would “establish Black Adam” as the most powerful and unstoppable force in the DC universe.

“We got to bring back the most powerful and unstoppable force of all time in any universe,” Johnson said, hinting at a future film starring the two. “And you all know who I mean? Of course, it was Superman. And that’s Henry Cavill.”
Cavill is known for playing iconic roles in several DC films, including “Man of Steel,” “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and “Justice League.” However, for the time being, it is uncertain whether the actor will return to play the character in another DC Movie.
All that has changed, given his cameo in “Black Adam,” and reports that “The Witcher” star has signed a new deal to continue in the role.

Elsewhere in his video, Johnson shared that the DC showrunner had “inexplicably and inexcusably” refused to bring Cavill back to don the cape. However, he refused to agree with their decision, and he and his team began to work to change their position.
“This has been years in the making about bringing back Henry Cavill and years of strategic conversations, and we’re not going to take no for an answer,” he said bluntly.
He later argued that Black Adam’s emergence as a force to be reckoned with implied that it would be absurd to continue developing new stories for the DC universe without including Superman.
He added, “There’s no way, there’s no logically viable way that you can try to build the DC Universe without the most powerful forces and the greatest superheroes of all time sitting on the sidelines. It is impossible to do.”

Johnson also praised Cavill as the best to play the Man of Steel, among other incarnations such as Christopher Reeves, Kirk Alyn, George Reeves, Dean Cain, Tom Welling, and Brandon Routh.
He revealed that Cavill’s brilliant portrayal of the role is also one of the reasons why he fought so hard to see it get another shot and that his return implies that the showrunners can “now build the DC Universe, properly, strategically and intelligently.”
The former WWE star continued, “It all comes back to Superman you have to have Superman in the mix. So that’s why we fought so hard to bring back Superman, Henry Cavill, and no other Superman, by the way, to bring back Henry Cavill is the Superman of our generation and in my opinion, the greatest Superman. And I mean that with respect to other actors, especially Christopher Reeve, but Superman is the greatest of all time.
