Emma Slater has spoken candidly about her divorce from Sasha Farber.
The 34-year-old recently insisted that the rift in her marriage to the “Dancing with the Stars” professional had nothing to do with him but with the time of welcoming a child. The couple have been making headlines since they split in April 2022 and Slater filed for divorce in February 2023.

During his appearance on Tuesday’s edition of the “Viall Files” podcast, Slater insisted that a major factor contributing to the split between him and his ex-partner was the difference in their timelines for starting a family. Explaining that although they still feel love for each other, she told Nick Viall:
“We are still like a family, so actually the love is not there, not really. We’re just in two potentially different places. But the hard part is that the love doesn’t actually go away [away].”
As he tells it, the reason for their divorce stems from one thing — having children. In the words of the “Mamma Mia” star, “It’s really a kid thing. It’s interesting because I do want to have kids, I just don’t want to delay Sasha’s path to having kids because I know she’s ready for it. I don’t want to talk too much about him because that’s really for him to say, but it’s about the kids.”

Insisting that she really wants children, the “Dancing with the Stars South Africa” performer stated, “I don’t know what it is, I just think about it myself. It’s not something I take lightly and I don’t want to get into something that I don’t sure because I won’t do it.”
Slater explained that she and Farber had talked about family planning throughout their relationship but that she felt significant “resistance” in the run-up to their eventual split.
“So that’s the real friction and the hardest part. It has nothing to do with him. He was always himself. I’m the one who can’t understand why I feel different,” he explained.
As for when she intends to start a family, the “Simply Ballroom” lead dancer declared that she is still figuring out the timing. “This situation caused me to feel resistance in life and not knowing what it was and why I felt it, and then accepting it in the last few years.” Slater said.
The “Cuban Groove” dance captain and the Australian-American professional dancer exchanged vows in 2018 after getting engaged during a live taping of “Dancing with the Stars” in October 2016.
Immediately after the news of their separation was published last year, a friend of the now long-time lover reportedly claimed “Emma and Sasha still remain close. There is no bad blood between them.”

The alleged insider’s words proved true last month when Farber and Slater visited the happiest place on earth together. The Blast notes that the Anglo-American posted a carousel of photos from his and his ex’s trip to Walt Disney World.
Even though they knew that the former couple was there for the “Dance the World” event, one fan still commented, “I wish they were together again. They look so good together and it looks like they’re on good terms ?♀️.”

Slater’s good feelings were then boosted when she and Farber were joined by “Dancing With the Stars” pro Witney Carson, her husband Carson McAllister, and their two children — Leo and Jet. He posted an interesting comment about the incident on Instagram, writing:
“My week at @waltdisneyworld so far ?? these kids are AMAZING!! and I met Jet for the first time!!!! ??.”
