Three parkgoers were injured at Disneyland on Monday morning when a light pole fell on America’s Main Street, according to reports.
Wind gusts of up to 60 mph at the popular California theme park in Anaheim were blamed for the freak incident, which happened just before 8:30 a.m. and left an elderly woman hospitalized with head injuries, the Orange County Register reported.
Two other people were also injured and treated at the scene for minor injuries, Anaheim Fire Department spokesman Sgt. John McClintock told the news outlet.
One of the injured guests who was treated at the scene was later seen sitting on a park bench with his head bandaged, Disney blog WDW News Today said.
The lampposts, located on flower beds surrounding the Disneyland flagpole, have been used to provide stage lighting for parades and other events along Main Street.
The theme park remains open, although visitors are temporarily diverted from the scene, which is located near Town Square and not far from Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln opera house, Register said.

Disneyland, which opened in 1955 and predated Florida’s Disney World by 16 years, has been the site of more serious incidents in the past year, including several suicides, according to reports.
Last week, a 24-year-old man jumped to his death from the park’s parking garage.
Jonah Alexander Edwards jumped from the six-story, 5,000-space Pixar Pals parking structure on Wednesday around 9:30 p.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene.
It was the third suicide at the theme park since last December and the sixth since 2010.
