Elizabeth Holmes Reportedly Finds Friendship In Prison With THIS Real Housewife

Elizabeth Holmes is looking for new friends behind bars.

The former biotech entrepreneur, who faced legal trouble and was found guilty of fraud over his blood testing firm, Theranos, reportedly had a relationship with reality television star Jen Shah in prison. The pair are currently serving their respective sentences at the Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas.

After he was sentenced to 11 years in prison in November 2022 for defrauding investors in an elaborate scam, Holmes began his sentence in May 2023. Now, months after his incarceration, the disgraced tech mogul is said to have had a relationship with Shah.

Spill the tea PEOPLEChris Giovanni, a representative for the former “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” cast member, claimed:

“They are friends. They are both in recovery and have bonded over being on this journey of positive change. Their situation brings them together, and they have a good understanding of each other. They go through it together.”

As Giovanni shared, the 49-year-old has taken on the role of mother to Holmes, especially since the Theranos founder gave birth to a daughter earlier this year. “Jen gave him a lot of advice. He even met baby Elizabeth and held her,” he said before adding that Shah was “very loving” to the 38-year-old and her newborn.

In addition, students of St. John’s School Stanford University dropout is a regular student in the “RHOSLC” alum’s “Sha-mazing Abs” fitness class. “Jen gathered all the ladies and they rallied behind her as she taught them fitness moves, and Elizabeth was right there with them,” the rep explained.

In case you missed it, Shah pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud in July 2022, then was sentenced to six and a half years in prison in January 2023. The mother of two began her prison sentence the following month.

While incarcerated, the “Shah Shocker” star and Holmes obeyed a daily 6 a.m. wake-up call, as per the prison handbook. Both women were responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in their cells and were given regular work assignments, which typically earned inmates between $0.23 and $1.15 for their work.

Fortunately for Holmes, he will be out of prison earlier than originally expected after getting time shaved off his sentence. According to The Blast, details on the Bureau of Prisons website show that the 2015 Horatio Alger Award recipient’s release date has been modified to December 29, 2032, which shortens his sentence by two years from the original term.

Although a spokesperson from the Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed this change, they could not provide additional details due to “privacy, safety and security concerns.” However, they noted that any inmate may receive a “good grace period” as part of their expected release date, and some inmates may have the option of early release through other avenues.

The recipient of Forbes’ Doers Under 30 Award Once Lost His Appeal

The update on Holmes’ jail details comes nearly three months after a federal judge denied him the chance to avoid prison. As The Blast pointed out at the time, US District Judge Edward Davila rejected his legal team’s request, arguing that allegations of misconduct during his four-month trial did not produce an unfair verdict.

In his decision, Judge Davila stated that there was insufficient evidence to justify allowing the mother of two children to remain free during the appeal process. He also mentioned that although he is unlikely to pose a danger to the public or attempt to escape if he remains out of prison, his conviction may be upheld.

The federal judge’s decision means that the Stanford student who dropped out will have to report to the appropriate authorities before the end of April to begin his 11-year sentence. Following the ruling, many speculated that Judge Davila’s denial may have been influenced by reports that Holmes had booked a one-way ticket to Mexico during his trial.

In fact, that action led to a lawsuit, because it raised concerns about him being a flight risk. The lawsuit sought to speed up the start date of his sentence and insist that he continue to live a lavish lifestyle. However, Holmes’ legal team disputed the claim, explaining that he had bought the plane ticket long before his conviction.
