However, the “Girl in the Mirror” artist explained that it took time for her public to accept the good news. Unsurprisingly, the patriarch of the family needs some warming up.
“The first person who really knew was my mom,” Grace told the outlet. “My mom’s reaction was obviously, at first, she was kind of like, ‘Oh wow.’ But he just got used to it, and he was always happy and excited about it.
Once his mother is on board, the next step is to get his father’s consent. A task the 19-year-old couldn’t bear, so he convinced his mother to take on the responsibility.
“Just in any normal family, it’s kind of hard to tell your dad—when you’re a girl—that you’re pregnant, and I’m sure people understand that it can be a little awkward,” Grace admitted.
