Elon Musk has given his support to Russell Brand in the midst of his current troubles. The billionaire said in a recent interview that people shouldn’t “destroy” the comedian’s life “over potential false accusations.”
Musk previously slammed Brand for promoting his Rumble channel instead of X (formerly Twitter).
The comedian is now facing allegations of rape and sexual assault that allegedly took place between 2006 and 2013. Police have opened an investigation, but no arrests have been made.
Brand has since denied the allegations, saying in a statement that all of his past sexual relationships were consensual.
‘It Is Innocent Until Proven Innocent’

Musk has come to Brand’s defense following allegations of sexual assault and rape.
The tech billionaire emphasized that the comedian has yet to be proven guilty of any wrongdoing and that the public should not “ruin” his life “over potential false accusations.”
“There needs to be, obviously, a conviction here. It can’t be guilty until proven innocent,” said Musk in a chat with Ben Shapiro, per Page Six. “Because obviously, we’re only in the witch-burning phase here; just being declared a witch is enough to make you a witch and be burned.”
Musk seemed to be referring to how the allegations have made Brand something of a social pariah, although he has yet to be charged by police with any of the allegations.

The “Get Him to the Greek” star has also experienced the demonetization of some of his platforms, such as his YouTube channel.
The Tesla founder’s Brand defense comes after he slammed the comedian for “rejecting” video-sharing app Rumble instead of X, formerly Twitter.
Musk tweeted at the time, “Kind of disappointing that he exclusively rejected Rumble when X has supported free speech just as much.”
Elon Musk Imagines that the Russell Brand is Targeted

Musk also thinks there’s more than meets the eye to Brand’s current woes. The founder of Space X hinted that the whole situation might stem from the actor’s controversial stance on many topics.
“It seems like an odd coincidence that it happened when Russell was really gaining traction, questioning a lot of conventional wisdom,” Musk said. “I think we’re running out of conspiracy theories that turn out not to be true.”
Meanwhile, Russell has publicly denied the accusations, saying that while he was “very, very promiscuous” in his past, all of his relationships were “totally consensual.”
“I have always been transparent about that. Then it was almost too transparent, and I’m being transparent about it now,” the “Despicable Me 2” star said in a statement.
Like Musk, Brand also questioned whether “there’s another agenda at play,” pointing out that personalities like Joe Rogan have also been victims of a “coordinated media attack.”
Russell Brand Allegedly Assaulted Four Women Between 2006 And 2013

The brand’s troubles began following the bombshell debut of the The Sunday Times who claims he sexually assaulted four women between 2006 and 2013.
One of the women, referred to as Nadia, told the publication that Brand had raped her at his home in Los Angeles on the morning of July 1, 2012.
She claimed that on that day, Brand had suggested she engage in sexual activity with him and a friend who was waiting in his bedroom. However, when she rejected his offer and tried to leave, he allegedly proceeded to rape her on the wall without a condom.
Another Brand accuser claims to have dated the actress when she was 16 and he was 31. In a recent interview, she voiced that it was illegal for the comedian to have sex with her at that age.

Recently, UK police revealed that they had launched an investigation in response to several “not recent” allegations of sexual misconduct against the comedian.
“We continue to encourage anyone who believes they may have been the victim of a sexual offence, no matter how long ago, to contact us,” a representative said.
“We understand it can feel like a difficult step to take and I want to reassure you that we have a team of specialist officers on hand to advise and support.”
Another spokesperson revealed that “no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing,” reiterating that victims should contact the police.
Amidst his current troubles, Brand has appreciated the support of his fans. He recently sought financial support by asking them to subscribe to his Rumble channel, which has yet to be debited.
