Elon Musk recently slammed Jeff Bezos’ ex-wife, MacKenzie Scott, for her choice of charitable donations towards diversity, equity and inclusion.
The SpaceX boss has previously been open about his opposition to aspects of Scott’s charitable donations after claiming he suffered an “unprovoked attack” and believes the animosity was partly caused by his “donations to PACs masquerading as charities.”
Scott reportedly received more than $38 billion when she ended her 25-year marriage to the Amazon founder in 2019. She has since given most of that amount to charity.

In a now-deleted post, the Tesla honcho blasted X for slamming Scott for his charitable contributions to organizations working toward diversity, equity and inclusion causes, according to a news outlet.
The post came in response to a post by user X, in which they complained that Scott donated to an organization that “deals with issues of race and/or gender,” accusing his gift of being “the ultimate expression of the most horrible group in the US. .”
“‘Incredibly rich ex-wives who hate their ex-spouses’ should be listed among ‘Why Western Civilization is dead,'” Musk replied.
According to her website, more than half of the 1,900 charities she has donated to since receiving the lump sum from the end of her marriage to Bezos address issues of race and gender.

According to reports, this is not the first time Musk has expressed his displeasure with Scott’s charitable contributions to organizations that support women and minorities.
In 2022, CEO X announced that he was voting Republican, claiming that he had faced “unprovoked attacks” from top Democrats at the time, as well as a “very cold shoulder” toward SpaceX and Tesla. He attributed the “attack” in part to “Mackenzie’s donations to a PAC masquerading as a charity.”
“It’s safe to say that Mackenzie [ahem] Scott is not a big fan of her ex-husband,” she added in another post, according to the Daily Beast. “Unfortunately, many others were caught in the crossfire.”
Musk doesn’t seem to like DEI’s efforts in general; for example, last month, he publicly accused Bezos of “killing creativity with DEI’s brutal restrictions on content,” weeks after claiming that “DEI is just another word for racism.”
His opposition to DEI’s efforts has not hindered Scott’s efforts, as he has reportedly donated over $16.5 billion to over 1,900 charities.
Jeff Bezos overtakes Elon Musk in the World’s Richest Ranking

Despite giving his ex-wife a large sum of money after their divorce in 2019, which saw his net worth drop, Bezos has now overtaken Musk in the ranking of the world’s richest in the Bloomberg index.
follow Bloomberg, the decline in Musk’s fortunes was partly due to a 7.2% drop in Tesla shares last Monday. He now sits at a reported net worth of $197.7 billion after losing over $31 billion in a matter of weeks.
Instead, Bezos outperformed his “rivals” as Amazon shares rose 17%, making the Blue Origin CEO’s net worth $23 billion. He has now reclaimed the top spot, with a net worth of more than $200 billion.
He reportedly also raised over $8 billion last week when he disposed of 50 million of his Amazon shares. Bezos still owns about 9% of the company, which will allow him to continue making a profit.
OpenAI Recently Slammed Tesla Founders

In other news, OpenAI has hit back at Musk after he filed a lawsuit accusing the company of straying from its altruistic roots, per Caretaker. Musk accused ChatGPT’s founder of deviating from its basic mission by creating a for-profit unit and putting revenue ahead of its core goal of creating technology for human benefit.
Musk previously served on the company’s board of directors until February 2018, when he resigned before the company set up its for-profit arm, in which Microsoft is the largest investor. He claims that OpenAI “has been turned into a closed de facto subsidiary of the world’s largest technology company: Microsoft.”
“We are saddened that this happened to someone we admire so much – someone who inspired us to reach for higher goals, then told us we would fail, started a competitor, and then sued us when we started making meaningful progress toward the direction of OpenAI’s mission without him,” the executives wrote.
The company’s executives also published a blog post containing email correspondence that suggested Musk wanted a merger with them and Tesla. He apparently said in one 2018 message that OpenAI should be attached to the electric car maker “as its cash cow” and in a subsequent email that “Tesla is the only path that can hope to hold a candle to Google.”
