Elon Musk has used illegal drugs at parties and appeared drugged at events, worrying executives and board members of his various companies, a new bombshell report claims.
The world’s 52 richest men allegedly used LSD, cocaine, ecstasy and magic mushrooms at bashes around the world — where fellow revelers must sign non-disclosure agreements or hand over their phones to attend, people who have witnessed his drug use told The Wall Street Journal .
The CEO of Tesla and SpaceX has also publicly smoked weed and has admitted to taking ketamine to treat his depression.
Musk took several tabs of acid at a party he hosted in Los Angeles in 2018. The following year he enjoyed magic mushrooms at an event in Mexico and in 2021 he took ketamine recreationally with his brother, Kimbal Musk, at a Miami house party, the Journal reported.

Such drug use by Musk has the potential to threaten his position at his publicly traded company, where shareholders prefer not to have a CEO on drugs making important decisions. SpaceX, though private, has several federal contracts that prohibit the use of drugs, the Journal said.
In total, Musk allegedly put about $1 trillion in investor-held assets at risk as well as tens of thousands of jobs.
Musk himself did not respond to the Journal for the story, but his spokesman, Alex Spiro, said he is regularly drug tested and has never failed. He also said “there are other false facts” in the story but did not specify them to the Journal.
Although the billionaire is known for his erratic and sometimes impulsive behavior, some executives noticed a sudden change in 2017 when he rambled through strange speeches and rambled in front of hundreds of SpaceX employees, raising questions about his substance use — despite no evidence. he takes drugs.
A witness described the 15-minute statement as “absurd,” “out of control” and “horrific” — and SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell eventually took over and took over, the newspaper reported.

Spiro told the Journal that the account of the event was “false as confirmed by many people present,” though he did not give the paper details of what was false.
The Post has reached out to Spiro for comment on the Journal’s report.
In 2018, Musk ran into trouble after smoking weed on camera with podcaster Joe Rogan. The fallout from the video briefly sent Tesla’s stock price plunging 9%, knocking the company off billions of dollars.
Executives also worried that Musk might have been on drugs when he suddenly tweeted that in 2018 he planned to take Tesla private — prompting an SEC investigation into whether the statement was misleading or false, people familiar with the matter told the WSJ.

Several people close to the billionaire said he used drugs during a media interview shortly after, where he became emotional describing how difficult his past year had been, according to the newspaper.
Musk has attributed his strange behavior to mental illness and lack of sleep from obsessively overseeing his company. He confirmed in 2017 that he has bipolar disorder – which can cause dramatic mood swings – but said he had not been diagnosed.
He also admitted on social media that he takes ketamine to help with depression and said while hosting Saturday Night Live that he has Asperger’s— a form of Autism.
In Musk’s authorized autobiography published last year, author Walter Isaacson wrote that Musk was prone to “demonic” outbursts at work in which he lashed out at employees and executives and “couldn’t remember” what happened afterward.
Musk is quoted as saying in the book “I really hate doing illegal drugs.”
