Elvis & Priscilla Presley’s Honeymoon Destination Home Up For Sale

Elvis & Priscilla Presley, who had been happily married for less than a decade, separated a few years before Elvis’ death in 1977.

And now, more than three decades after his death, their honeymoon destination in Palm Springs, California, is back on the market for millions of dollars.

According to the WSJ, Presley’s honeymoon residence cost $5.65 million after nearly two years of renovations. In the sixties, Elvis rented the modern house for almost a year, starting in 1966. He and Priscilla later celebrated there after their wedding in Las Vegas the following year.

The building is a famous structure around that never ceases to attract attention from tourists, legends fans, and architecture lovers. The four-bedroom home was originally built for developer Bob Alexander and his family. But now, the sellers are Seattle-based investors Dan Bridge and Paul Armitstead.

The 68-year-old Bridge is reportedly a rabbi who has worked in the nonprofit industry, while the 67-year-old Armitstead is a qualified architect who designs apartment neighborhoods.

In addition, the former brother-in-law has jointly invested in home renovations in Seattle and Palm Springs over the years. It should be noted that Bridge was previously married to Mr Armitstead’s sister.

The investors initially visited Presley’s Palm Springs honeymoon home less than five years ago for a function, part of Palm Springs Modernism Week.

The annual event is for architecture lovers confirmed Bridge, adding that the building’s rounded walls and batwing-shaped roof reminded him of a stealth bomber. In his words, “It looks like it’s ready to take off.”

Spanning about 4,700 square feet, the Palm Springs home was designed by “Modernist” architect William Krisel, known for his Californian character homes, according to the Palm Springs Historic Sites Preservation Board.

The seller, Bridge and Armitstead, noted that the building had no corners; instead, “bean brittle-style stone walls curve around a circular room.” The living room has a nearly 60-foot-long built-in circular sofa that hugs the wall and surrounds a central fireplace. There is also an outdoor pool, pentagonal in shape but without the original tennis court.

It was reported that the Presleys were meant to get married at the house but changed their plans for Las Vegas after local media heard about them. However, they returned there in Frank Sinatra’s Learjet after the Vegas ceremony with Elvis carrying his bride to the entrance, singing the “Hawaii Wedding Song.”

Such accurate information was revealed in Marlene Wagman-Geller’s book, “And the Rest Is History: The Famous (and Infamous) First Meetings of the World’s Most Passionate Couples.”

The former couple’s destination wedding home was originally designed as a private residence. Upon completion, it was called “The House of Tomorrow,” given its modern features that included electrical controls to control temperature and exterior lighting and a sprinkler system.

Based on a 1962 article in Look magazine, the features are listed along with a story done on the Alexanders who owned the building. It’s been called a “$300,000 pleasure dome that proves California is just beginning to show how luxurious things can be on this planet.”

The writing represents the two of them as the city’s “It” couple, and their lifestyle is fully detailed. Unfortunately, they died in a plane crash a few years after the house was completed.

Priscilla Presley Reveals Early Memories of Her Late Ex-Husband

Since the biopic “Elvis” released in June, many fans will be able to see the legacy of the King of Rock and Roll, including his relationship with his lover, Priscilla. A few years before the film was released, the “Dallas” actor opened up about his memories of Elvis with Jenna Bush Hager on “Today.”

He says it all starts with his voice before pointing out that the crowd is blown away every time he sings as “it’s like he’s singing for you.” Priscilla continued, “He’s not bad to look at either. Everyone fell in love with him. They still love it. She is really beautiful. He woke up beautifully.”

It was admittedly a “good life” for the couple who met in 1958 when the “Naked Gun” star was still in high school. And their ten-year age gap didn’t stop them from building a fairytale-worthy relationship.
