Movie star Emily Blunt has opened up about tears while filming the 2014 action thriller “Edge of Tomorrow.”
The actress admitted that the armor they had to wear during filming seemed too heavy for her to handle and she cried when she put it on for the first time.
She went on to say that her co-star Tom Cruise told her to brace herself after getting over her initial reaction to her tearful reaction.
The 39-year-old is slated to star in two upcoming films, Netflix’s “Oppenheimer” and “Pain Hustlers.”

Speaking on an episode of the “SmartLess” podcast, which premiered Monday, Blunt recalled her time starring alongside Cruise in the alien-themed thriller, “Edge of Tomorrow.”
At that time, the actor was mostly known for starring in romantic films, which made his acting in the film a very new experience for him.
“We had to wear these big suits, which I thought would be great if we had CGI, but we wanted to do it in a tactile way,” he said in the podcast, recalling some details from the production, per New York Post.
“When you hear the word ‘tactile’, you think it sounds nice and comfortable. There is nothing comfortable about this suit. It was like 85 pounds. It was very heavy,” added Blunt. “The first time I put it on I started crying, and [Cruise] don’t know what to do.”

Amidst her emotional reaction, Blunt informed her co-stars that she wasn’t sure she had the strength to keep up with the shoot.
“I was like, ‘Tom, I’m not sure how I’m going to get through this shoot,’ and started crying,” she continued. “I said, ‘I’m kind of freaked out about the whole shoot.’”
For his part, Cruise seemed surprised by his colleague’s reaction, as he “stared” at him for a long time before giving him an answer that surprised and comforted him.
“He just stared at me for a long time, not knowing what to do, and he said, ‘Come on, stop being like that, OK?'” she said.
Although Blunt was eventually able to adapt, she didn’t leave the film set without a few cuts and bruises. The “Looper” star revealed that he injured his ribs and collarbone during another scene.
