Hunter Schafer was arrested while protesting the Israel-Hamas war with Jewish Voice for Peace in New York City on February 26.
According to sources close to the situation, the “Euphoria” star allegedly took part in Monday afternoon’s protest to disrupt President Joe Biden’s appearance on “Late Night With Seth Meyers.”
Hunter Schafer Arrested At Pro-Palestinian Protest
What began as a protest to end the conflict in Gaza quickly took a left turn when Schafer was escorted by the New York Police Department [NYPD] officers with handcuffs behind their backs.
The actor, pictured wearing a shirt demanding an immediate ceasefire in images from the event, was among 50 protesters from Jewish Voice For Peace who were arrested and given two summonses for trespassing and disorderly conduct. Fortunately, the charge is a less serious violation of the law per TMZ.
Schafer’s arrest was addressed in a statement by JVP representatives, which detailed:
“Hunter was arrested during the protest, along with 50 other people. We applaud his commitment to Palestinian freedom and a future of justice for all.”

Meanwhile, photos and videos shared on JVP social media showed members of the anti-Zionist group sitting in the lobby of Rockefeller Center in Midtown Manhattan. They waved banners criticizing Biden’s foreign policy in Gaza with slogans such as “Jews to Biden: Stop arming for genocide” and “a lasting ceasefire.”
“The president needs to start listening to the American people – not the far-Right Israeli government that is indiscriminately bombing the people of Gaza, destroying 70% of the infrastructure, including hospitals, universities and the electricity and water grids,” the Jewish group wrote in part in an accompanying caption.
The group’s efforts drew a standing ovation from the audience, with one saying, “I can’t put into words how much I appreciate every soul on the right side of justice. THANK YOU,” and another wrote, “Thank you for standing up for peace and justice,” in the comments.
Schafer’s Yearlong Romance With Co-Stars Generates Support
Before she was escorted from Rockefeller Center sprawled out, Schafer made headlines for allegedly having an affair with her “Euphoria” co-star Dominic Fike.
The actor became part of the HBO series in its second season as Elliot, the new love interest for Zandaya’s Ruby “Rue” Bennett, after she suffered a setback and broke up with Jules Vaugh, played by Schafer.
Shortly after season 2 premiered, the actor and Fike, who was initially known as a musician, were seen holding hands and leaving the Nice Guy restaurant in West Hollywood.

For the date, Schafer wore an all-black outfit, including a weather jacket, mini shorts with tights and a sweatshirt. She accessorized with a pair of gray mid-calf boots.
As The Blast reports, Fike paired her black ensemble with a black T-shirt, matching pants and boots. She also added a brown jacket and finished with a single chain as an accessory.
As soon as the picture of the couple appeared on social media, fans got excited and immediately started asking questions about their relationship in the comments section.
While one fan stated, “HUNTER SCHAFER AND DOMINIC FIKE ARE DATING? I JUST FELL ON MY KNEES,” another commented, “Hunter and Dominic are dating? COUNT ME IN,” and a third declared, “I’m so here for this!”
A gossip site added fuel to the debate when they claimed that Schafer was seen backstage at one of Fike’s shows, and that they engaged in some “kissing and dancing”.
The couple appeared to confirm their relationship when Fike posted a photo of them kissing over dinner at a restaurant in February 2022. He captioned it, “Happy birthday happy birthday,” even though they both have birthdays in December.
Unfortunately, despite the support they’ve received, the model and singer-songwriter have split, with the latter revealing during a July 2023 interview that she prefers being in a relationship and feels “uncomfortable being alone.”
Upon reaching that conclusion, Fike realized, “That’s a bad thing. So I decided to be alone for a while.”
