A Louisiana high school teacher who resigned amid allegations that she fathered a 17-year-old student’s child has been arrested and charged with rape following a two-year investigation.
Morgan Freche, 33, a former teacher at Loranger High School, was booked after surrendering Tuesday to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, WBRZ reported.
The sheriff’s office said the department is still looking into the allegations against Freche, noting that they first contacted officers two years ago.
The most serious allegations centered on a 17-year-old boy who fathered a child with the former teacher.
“We just learned of the arrest of former Tangipahoa Parish teacher, Morgan Freche,” Superintendent Melissa Stilley said in a statement.

“Neither the board nor this office will tolerate employee behavior that goes beyond the limits in areas such as the proper professional relationship between educators and their students,” he added.
Freche, who resigned from the district last week, was also charged with oral sex and multiple counts of criminal carnal knowledge of a juvenile.
Officials did not provide further details because the investigation into Freche is still ongoing.

“This type of investigation takes time and is being handled with the utmost care. Under no circumstances will we be in a rush to close,” Sheriff Daniel Edwards said earlier.
A representative for Freche could not immediately be reached for comment.
