Family Therapy, ‘Sister Wives’ Style: Robyn Plays Shrink To Fix Kody’s Christine Blues

In the ever-changing world of “Sister Wives,” Robyn Brown steps into an unexpected role — as a guidance teacher for her husband, Kody Brown. As the patriarch goes through turbulent times and risks ruining his relationship with his last wife, Robyn is left alone to deal with it.

‘Sister Wives’ Robyn Brown Tries To Coach Kody When It Comes To Christine

In a sneak peek from the TLC special, “Sister Wives: Christine & David’s Wedding,” Kody wrestled with the emotions surrounding his ex-wife Christine’s wedding to David Woolley. As he talks about his feelings, Robyn steps in, trying to coach him to express the right feelings.

Robyn had to intervene when Kody started discussing their past, diverting the conversation with a well-rehearsed, “Aren’t we so happy for them? We’re so happy for them, aren’t we? That’s what we want.”

In the midst of Kody’s attempts to sort out his emotions, he jokingly quipped, “Just because I’ve been mad for them for three years doesn’t mean I can’t be happy for them.” Despite his past anger, he acknowledges Christine’s quest for happiness, telling her words to their children about finding her soul mate.

Kody, apparently unaware of the wedding details, shared his surprise about the union, stating, “I knew David and Christine were getting married because I had met David. I saw the wedding announcement at my sister’s house.”

Expressing curiosity about the family members being invited, the 54-year-old admitted he was fine with Christine moving out but hinted at underlying issues that could not be resolved. For her part, Robyn expressed simple hopes for the new couple’s happiness, stating, “I hope Christine and David can be happy. That’s all I’ll say.”

As the last woman standing with Kody, the mother of five admits to experiencing unexpected consequences. In a candid interview on a previous episode of “Sister Wives: One-on-One Special” with Sukanya Krishnan, Robyn opened up about the emotional turmoil Kody was going through in their relationship.

Despite being considered a patriarch twirling his thumb, Robyn reveals that her lover’s suspicions of women, stemming from the fear of his three ex-wives leaving, strained their relationship.

The 45-year-old woman mentioned her efforts to “always make him remember and realize that not all women are bad.” In recounting the emotional conversation with Kody, Robyn described feeling like she was metaphorically “lining up all the women” and shooting them, a metaphor for her struggle with trust. In his words:

“I think you are lining up all the women. I am with them, and you [imitates a machine gun], you know, shoot them all. And that’s not fair because just because you have some issues with other women in your life or women or whatever, doesn’t mean we’re all bad.”

The TV personality revealed that she had to keep stopping her husband from sabotaging their marriage with unnecessary conflicts. He stated that the tension was caused by their different responses to the challenges that arose in the family.

According to the reality TV star, while he mourned the change, Kody was overcome with anger and refused to share his feelings of loss.

The often-controversial wife of Kody’s former plural marriage expressed her need for reassurance from women outside the lens. Although Sukanya Krishnan assured Robyn of validation from women, she insists that this sentiment was not conveyed to her in private discussions.

In an exclusive interview, the star insists, “They don’t share it with me off camera,” before revealing that being the only wife to experience happiness with Kody feels “disrespectful.”

To assert his position, he expressed his unwavering dedication to the family: “My commitment to them, to their children, to Kody about this family, it’s not broken, and I don’t know how to break it. I don’t know how to solve it.”
