Fans Are Livid Over Aaron Carter’s Omission From Grammys In Memoriam Segment

Fans had no part of Aaron Carter’s exclusion from the “In Memoriam” segment of the 2023 Grammy Awards.

The long segment, dedicated to honoring singers who died in the previous year, saw the faces of those in the music industry who passed in the calendar year displayed on the Grammys screen on Sunday, February 5.

Those honored are Loretta Lynn, Takeoff, Lisa Marie Presley, Christine McVie, DJ Stephen “Twitch” Boss, Jeff Beck, Olivia Newton-John, Coolio, David Crosby, Naomi Judd, and more.

However, Carter’s face was conspicuously absent from the onstage tribute as musical powerhouses Quavo, Kacey Musgraves, Mick Fleetwood, Sheryl Crow, and Bonnie Raitt gave emotional performances in respect of those who died.

Last month, The Blast reported that Aaron’s mother, Jane, and his fiancée Melanie Martin believed the “That’s How I Beat Shaq” singer died of a possible drug overdose rather than drowning.

While they await the coroner’s toxicology report that will determine exactly what was in his body when he died, the two were allegedly informed that no water was found in Aaron’s lungs by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

That statement had successfully eliminated drowning as a potential cause of death, prompting Jane to ask for more answers. In fact, previous reports claimed that the late singer’s mother wanted law enforcement officers to launch an investigation into the possible occurrence of a drug transaction on the night of his death.

Jane and Martin’s suspicions about the true cause of Aaron’s death began after they reportedly discovered a string of text messages between his late lover and a stranger.

The unnamed individual told Aaron he owed $800 for an unknown material, which the “Don’t Say Goodbye” artist refused, claiming he no longer needed it. That didn’t stop the person on the other side from insisting that the former teen pop star owed him the aforementioned money.

The conversation ends when Aaron asks if he was threatened. Armed with the text exchange, Martin, who shares a son, Prince, with Aaron, met with investigators earlier last month.
