Social media users are scrambling to track down Tory Lanez for his latest addition to his legal team.
Although the rapper was found guilty of three felony charges in connection with the December 2020 shooting of Meghan Thee Stallion, he’s not going down without a fight. To that end, he recently hired another well-known lawyer to help him appeal the decision as soon as possible. However, the practical step became a matter of discussion when critics learned about the lawyer’s monthly fees.

It seems Lanez – real name Daystar Peterson – isn’t taking any chances on his possible prison sentence. As noted, the “In For It” rapper could face a maximum sentence of 22 years in prison and possible deportation to Canada after he serves his term.
To avoid that, the 30-year-old hired a lawyer who he thought could “save” him, Jose Baez. In case you missed it, Baez was the mastermind behind the acquittal of Ohio native Casey Anthony in 2011.

The now 36-year-old has avoided prison and the death penalty following allegations that he killed his two-year-old daughter, Caylee Marie. Additionally, the National Trial Lawyers Association has lauded Baez as one of the “Top 100 Trial Lawyers” for four consecutive years — an accolade that does not come cheap.
In fact, Daily Loud tweeted that the criminal defense attorney allegedly received a monthly salary of $200,000 from Lanez. Within hours of the news going live, trolls flooded the replies with their best jokes and pranks.
A Twitter user uploaded a clips from comedian Druski on the phone with a “customer,” who he told, “We’ve got good news and bad news. Good news, we got your pay, man. Bad news, they’re giving you a life. Sayonara.” He captioned it: “Tory lawyer after pretending to solve his case for 12 months ?.”
“Imagine spending all that money, just to get more time. I love Tory Lanez’s music but his attitude is something he needs to improve. Still disappointed with how this whole Megan saga played out,” another Twitter user scold.

‘Broke In A Minute’ Murder Father Fights Strongly Against Court Decision
The Blast reports that a Los Angeles jury found Lanez guilty of grossly negligent discharge of a firearm, assault with a semiautomatic pistol, and carrying a loaded, unregistered handgun in a vehicle. Jurors agreed with the prosecution’s theory that the 30-year-old injured Megan’s leg after he fired five shots at her in a fit of rage.
The couple allegedly got into a drunken argument after a party at Kylie Jenner’s Hollywood Hills home in July 2020. However, things took a turn for the worse when the two rappers started taking shots at their music careers.
The unexpected verdict immediately sent his family into a frenzy, with Lanez’s father, Sonstar Peterson, angrily lashing out at the jury. The former priest has called the court system “evil” and labeled two of the prosecutors as “evil,” which led to him being forcibly removed from the courtroom.
Just hours earlier, Lanez was all smiles as she held her son and told the camera that she was feeling optimistic about the day. Although the Houston beauty looked dashing in a purple suit and pants as she left the courtroom, she avoided addressing the legal battle with the press and the public.
