When news of Aaron Carter’s death was confirmed over the weekend, many people, including celebrities, family members and fans, quickly took to their various social media platforms to pay their respects.
Despite the many tributes, observers couldn’t help but speak up when the child star’s ex-fiancée, Melanie Martin, dropped an emotional two-second clip on TikTok.
Melanie Martin Burned For Crying While Driving

In the footage, Martin can be seen in a green dress crying hysterically behind the wheel of a car. Although the video has no captions and has 7k+ likes, several critics have taken to the comments to express their dismay at it.
While one felt it was a “weird thing to do,” another critic wrote, “I’m sorry but I didn’t see any tears. Obviously Aaron is no saint but you put him through the ringer with the back and forth stuff. “
A third observer added, “Not a single tear came out of your eyes. You don’t care about his health. You care about materialistic things, and you know it.” A fourth claimed, “Aaron deserves more,” and a fifth asked why Martin would post it.
A sixth observed that the model “got up and did her makeup,” and a seventh wanted to know where the tears were and why the video was only two seconds long. Another critic advised the grieving mother-of-one to “keep it a secret” – a sentiment shared by many others. Fortunately for Martin, a few people came to his defense with a post:
“He is calm now. He gave you the best gift to remember him by. Live for Aaron and the prince. I know you are sick please drive safely.”

Another supporter added, “You tried many times to save him. I was so sorry that the Prince had lost his father and the third one angrily shouted, “To all of you negative talkers DARE YOU!!! Have you guys ever stopped to think Aaron watching TikTok live every day is HIS cry for help?”
Carter was found dead in his California home after officers responded to a 911 call from a caretaker who claimed to have found an unresponsive man in a bathtub.
Shortly after deputies arrived, firefighters arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene on November 5. At the time The Blast reported the unfortunate incident, there was no evidence of foul play in the situation. There is also no information that the authorities suspect foul play.
Known for hits like “That’s How I Beat Shaq,” Carter grew up in the entertainment industry, releasing his first album when he was just nine years old. Since then, the 2000s heartthrob has enjoyed a successful career as a singer and actress, guest-starring on Hollywood projects like “I Want Someone to Eat Cheese With” and “7th Heaven.”
However, his life did not go smoothly as he experienced highly publicized mental health challenges and substance abuse. The sister of Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter checked into rehab in September after she lost custody of Prince, her 11-month-old son with Martin. He is 34 years old.
