‘Sister Wives’ Meri Brown Hoped For Reconciliation With Kody

Meri Brown never wanted to end her marriage to Kody Brown, but the ship of reconciliation has long since sailed.

Months after the “Sister Wives” co-stars announced the end of their decade-plus relationship, the patriarch’s first wife has vowed to use her voice to spread the truth behind her vow dissolution. Uh-oh! Better watch out, Kody, because Meri is ready to spill the tea, and the audience is ready for it!

Meri Brown Hopes Kody Brown Gets Over Their Relationship Sooner

When the reality TV star walked down the aisle with the polygamist 32 years ago, the Alameda native never imagined her marriage would end in sorrow. Even as Kody moves behind the scenes to dissolve their bond, Meri hopes the couple will weather the storm.

Unfortunately, the father of 18 remains steadfast in his decision to separate from Lizzie’s Heritage Inn founder — a position his ex-wife wanted to make public long ago. In Sunday’s episode of TLC’s “Sister Wives: One on One Special,” the entrepreneur confessed:

“He should have told me because I’m still sitting here and clinging to the idea that maybe you can get your head out of your butt.”

The mother of one also revealed some of the downsides of her marriage to Kody, stating she couldn’t live up to the expectations of the polygamist. “He would ask me to do something and ask me to be a certain way or ask me to fix a certain situation, but it wasn’t good enough,” laments Meri.

However, Kody may regret how he treated the TV personality in the past, as the Alameda native promised to share the truth about their breakup. In a teaser for the second installment of TLC’s “Sister Wives: One on One Special,” the former couple opened up about their failed marriage during their interview with Sukanya “Suki” Krishnan.

According to the 18-year-old’s father, Meri believed the former couple had been “drunk on each other.” However, their romance eventually “plays out” and reaches its conclusion. In Krishnan’s one-on-one meeting with the newly single 52-year-old, the interviewer asked: “Didn’t he hear you? Aren’t you heard?”

Exuding confidence and indifference to her ex-husband, Meri revealed her plan to expose Kody. “Oh, my voice will be heard. I will not be silent anymore,” said the founder of the bed and breakfast.

This is not the first time the businessman has refused to remain silent about his relationship with the polygamist. In the October episode of “Sister Wives,” Meri reminisces about her bad birthday celebration with Kody.

“‘I have no desire, Meri, to be in a relationship with you,'” the 52-year-old recounted their dinner conversation following Kody’s refusal to mark their wedding milestone.

According to the TV personality, the father wanted to keep their discussion private, but he refused to hide the truth about his part in their breakup. On the bright side, the father’s harsh words helped Meri realize her two choices regarding their marriage. Retailer LuLaRoe says:

“Basically, for me, I see two options: continue living the way I have been for the last eight years, which is, you know, an extraordinary, badass, independent person who is officially married to someone but not emotionally, right? “

“And I can keep doing it. Or, I can end it. I can take steps to move forward to resolve it,” the entertainer concluded, hinting that she might be granting Kody’s wish to end their relationship.

Meri Brown Accuses Her Ex-Husband of Trying to Save Face in Their Split

Days before TLC’s “Sister Wives: One on One Special,” viewers watched as the media personality accepted the end of her marriage to Kody following the unfair division of the family’s Coyote Pass property. Fed up with her ex-boyfriend’s mistreatment, Meri declared she might spend more time in Utah, saying:

“All of that coupled with everything that has happened and the statement Kody has made to me this year that I probably won’t renew my lease here.”

The reality TV star stated in her confession that she could no longer tolerate Kody’s inconsistencies and accused him of refusing to take responsibility for ending their longtime union. In the words of the social media personality:

“I don’t like him putting all this on me, and he doesn’t have it either. He just has no interest. He said it to me in private, but he still didn’t say it here.”

Meri claims Kody refuses to take responsibility for his part in the couple’s marriage dissolution because he wants to save face in public. Although the former couple disagreed about the reasons behind their split, they agreed it was time for their marriage to end.
