The segment of the 65th In Memoriam Grammy Awards featured a variety of eye-popping performances from different artists on Sunday night. However, the highlight was Quavo’s final farewell to his late nephew.

For his heartfelt performance to Takeoff, the “Hotel Lobby” rapper wore an all-black outfit consisting of a suit jacket, crew neck and pants. She brightened the gloomy look with a silver chain and covered half of her face with a black mask.
The Georgia native paid his respects while sitting on a bench next to an empty chair, perhaps representing his deceased bandmate. In front of the singer was a microphone stand wrapped in one of Takeoff’s diamond-encrusted necklaces.
Behind Quavo are members of the Maverick City Music choir, who stand in front of a projection of Migos members’ memories and images of the late artist. At the start of the show, the chorus fell silent as the 31-year-old sang the beautiful lyrics of “Without You,” noting that her days just aren’t the same without Takeoff.
As the song picked up steam, the “WORKIN ME” rapper removed his stool to continue his performance. Following his lead, members of the Maverick City Music choir put Charlie Puth and Wiz Khalifa’s hit “See You Again” to music.
This unexpected mix gave the audience goosebumps as both songs displayed a strong message of sadness. Quavo ended his amazing performance by lifting Takeoff’s chain off the mic stand and flashing it to the audience.
Even with half his face covered, the heartbroken rapper could barely hide his pain. However, he did not give in and completed his deed without tears. Instead, fans went wild with the touching tribute.
Following the In Memoriam segment, the hashtag #Quavo #Takeoff #Grammys started trending on Twitter. Thousands shared clips of their favorite moments from the rapper’s performance praising him for his passionate delivery.
“I cried! That was a beautiful tribute. Quavo is so strong to do that tribute,” one female fan wailed on Twitter. This seemed to be the general sentiment as another fan wrote, “I CAN’T HANDLE THIS WITH QUAVO!!! “
A third fan stated that they couldn’t stop their waterworks after watching the rapper hold his niece’s necklace. “QUAVO HOLDS A CHAIN THROUGH ME CRYING,” the social media user confessed.
“Quavo wearing a take off chain and hanging it up for everyone to see made me tear up. The tribute to him is wonderful. Rest in peace, Take off,” another (commenter wrote sweetly.
As more fans express their love for the late Migos rapper, some appreciate Quavo’s tenacity. One affected fan wrote, “Quvo is stronger than me because I’ll be there crying,” while another noted that the rapper’s pain was evident on his face.

Berlepas, whose birth name was Kirsnick Khari Ball, died at the age of 28. He was fatally shot in Houston on November 1, 2022, a tragic incident that occurred in front of his beloved uncle.
Two months after her death, Quavo released “Without You,” a sentimental song that captures her grief. The 31-year-old shared a teaser of the music video on his Instagram page before sharing the full clip on YouTube.
The footage features a black-and-white theme with a heartbroken uncle in continuous shots. The “Go Off” rapper smoked a cigarette in the studio while rocking his chair to the melancholy track.
