An Israeli singer who stars in the popular Netflix drama “Fauda” has been seriously injured during the fighting in Gaza, his family said Monday.

Amedi, who joined “Fauda” in its second season playing Sagi Tzur, joined the war effort after the Oct. 7 massacre that killed more than 1,200 people in Israel.

He was with the Combat Engineering Corps of the Israel Defense Forces when he was injured.

“Fauda” creators Lior Raz and Avi Issacharoff on Monday hailed Amedi as a real-life hero who stepped up to serve his country when he was needed.

Amedi also received praise from the official Instagram page of “Fauda.” It asked fans of the show to help pray for his speedy recovery.

In a video recorded last week, Amedi celebrated Israel’s latest victory over Hamas forces while calling for an end to criticism of the war.

“After 90 days of fighting, we continue to destroy short-range missile sites, launch sites and command facilities of the Hamas terrorist organization,” Amedi said.
