Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign ‘could not sell p—y on a troop train,’ husband Bill lamented according to new book

Former President Bill Clinton was personally critical of his wife Hillary’s failed 2016 presidential campaign, complaining to a friend that it couldn’t “sell p—y on an army train,” according to a new book.

The 42nd president’s complaint was specifically directed at Hillary Clinton’s campaign’s heavy use of identity politics — trying to paint the policies of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) as sexist and racist in an op-ed ghostwritten by an advocacy group – as the former secretary of state battles a socialist lawmaker for the Democratic presidential nomination.

“To the extent that campaign tactics move the needle at all, it’s likely to push moderate voters who pay little attention to the campaign toward Sanders, who talks like a normal person while Clinton begins to ascend into what her ally James Carville would later call, ‘ the faculty lounge spoke ,'” journalist Ryan Grim wrote in “The Squad: AOC and the Hope of a Political Revolution,” released last week.

“Former President Bill Clinton, surveying the landscape and hard work at identity politics has been undone, lamented to an old friend in the fall of 2016 that Hillary’s campaign ‘couldn’t sell py on the troop train,'” Grim wrote.

Hillary Clinton, who edged out Sanders in the Democratic primary race but lost to Donald Trump in the general election, has admitted that she did not run a “perfect campaign” but also blamed her defeat on misogyny, Russian meddling and the FBI’s investigation into the use of e-mail servers. personal mail while heading the State Department.

“I’m on my way to win until the combine [former FBI Director] Jim Comey’s October 28th letter and Russia’s WikiLeaks cast doubt in the minds of people who were inclined to vote for me but were afraid,” Clinton told CNN in May 2017.

“If the election is on October 27, I will be your president,” Clinton added, referring to Comey who told Congress on October 28, 2016, that the bureau was investigating newly discovered emails three months after the FBI concluded that Clinton had ” grossly negligent” but did not recommend charges against him over the server scandal.

When asked by Christiane Amanpour in the same interview whether she believed she was a victim of misogyny, Clinton replied, “Yes, I think it played a role … [misogyny] is part of the political, social and economic landscape.”
