The convicted felon who stormed the bench “superman-style” at a Las Vegas judge last week appeared in court again on Tuesday to face attempted murder charges for the shocking attack.
Deobra Redden was surrounded by guards with masks covering her mouth and orange gloves on her hands as she appeared before a different judge to face charges in connection with the courtroom disturbance last Wednesday.
Redden, 30, is charged with attempted murder of an elderly person, battery, intimidating a public officer with threats of violence, extortion, and reckless disregard for the safety of a person resulting in great bodily injury, KVVU reported.
During a hearing last week, Redden launched himself before Clark County District Court Judge Mary Kay Holthus after she denied his request for probation for the April baseball bat attack.
Redden is accused of pulling Holthus’ hair as he wrapped his arms around her throat and hit her in the head, according to a criminal complaint obtained by CNN.

“When he found out he was going to sentence him to prison, (Redden) jumped over the defense table into the well of the courtroom, then rushed to the bench and jumped over it ‘superman’ style right into the judiciary of Judge Mary Kay Holthus. space, landed directly on top of him and immediately attacked the judge,” the complaint outlined.
He also allegedly fought with Las Vegas police, a clerk and a marshal while spitting at an officer, the complaint said.
Ahead of Tuesday’s hearing, Redden landed in Holthus’ courtroom on Monday, where he also had to wear orange gloves and a full-face spit mask while wearing handcuffs following his viral infection.

Following the sentencing on Monday, Redden’s family told reporters that their loved one had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Court records show he is competent to stand trial.
Foster mother Karen Springer said Redden “just freaked out” when he launched into the judge.
“No disrespect. We don’t deny what he did,” Springer said.
