The first shipment of US weapons arrived in Israel Tuesday as the country waged war on Hamas, according to the Israel Defense Forces.
“The first plane carrying US weaponry has arrived at Nevatim Air Base in southern Israel this afternoon,” The IDF tweeted. “Cooperation between our militaries is an essential part of ensuring regional security and stability during wartime.”
The “advanced munitions” on board the aircraft will allow for “significant strikes and preparations for additional scenarios” against the terrorist group, IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari said.
“We are grateful for America’s support and assistance to the IDF in particular, and to the State of Israel in general, during this challenging period,” he added.
National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan told reporters at the White House Tuesday that the US “has deployed missiles and interceptors to [Israel’s] Iron Dome missile defense system” at the behest of President Biden.
Sullivan added that Biden, 80, spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday to discuss “additional capabilities that Israel needs.”

“He promised that American aircraft will land in Israel with that capability in the coming days,” Sullivan said, noting that the White House will work with Congress to ensure Israel continues to receive “critical assets.”
As part of an effort to arm Israel to fight Hamas — which launched a deadly surprise terror attack against the Jewish state over the weekend — Boeing is also expediting the delivery of 1,000 smart bombs, according to Fox News.
The Israeli Air Force reportedly flew a 250-pound bomb into Israel after it was picked up at a US Air Force base.
The bombs are part of a 2021 contract, described as a “direct commercial sale” between Boeing and the Israeli military, according to the outlet.
Biden has pledged to support Israel after Saturday’s brutal attack.
“At this moment we must be clear: We stand with Israel,” Biden said during a speech on Tuesday. “And we will make sure Israel has what it needs to take care of its people, defend itself and respond to these attacks. There is no justification for violence. No reason.”
