Five members of a Washington state family were found dead Sunday in an apparent murder-suicide after someone told police one of the relatives texted them saying they had “hurt other people” at home.
Clark County sheriff’s deputies were called to a northeast Vancouver home for a welfare check about 1 a.m. Sunday after someone close to the family requested it, authorities said.
The unidentified caller told police they had received a text message from a family member saying they had “hurt someone else” in the home, KPTV reported.
When deputies arrived at the home and were unable to reach anyone inside, they called for backup from the tactical team, officials said.
Then, using a flying drone, deputies were able to determine that several people inside the home were likely dead, authorities said.
