In a recent interview with Radio Time, the Oxford-born actor revealed his conscious decision to “control his image” in the industry. His daring act of shaving his head for the upcoming romantic drama, “We Live in Time,” was part of that effort.
“I deliberately chose to look like that. I wanted the swagger out of the picture,” Pugh said of her dramatic hairstyle, which she debuted at the Met Gala in May. “Hollywood is very glamorous – especially for women – and it’s hard for viewers to see that,” she told the outlet, per Daily Mail.
