A South Florida man was arrested after police found a handwritten threat in his car outlining a plan to “kill everyone” at his former high school and others in several states on his 22nd birthday.
Henry Horton IV, 19, was pulled over in Jupiter on Sept. 27 for a broken light when an inspection of the vehicle uncovered the alleged plan, WBPF reported.
One of the notes read, “kill everyone at OHS with my gun.” Horton allegedly admitted that it referred to Okeechobee High School, where he graduated in May 2022, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Police said the note ultimately outlined a plan for Horton to kill an administrator at the school, along with 14 other people on the campus on Jan. 2, 2026, the day he turned 22.
An investigation of his phone and Discord account also uncovered details for mass murder attacks in several states, plans to build a bomb, and plans to kill his stepmother.
During an interview with Horton, the suspect told police he was in Palm Beach County to conduct reconnaissance at El Rey Jesus Church, in Miami, as part of an attack he planned there, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

Horton also claimed to have done reconnaissance work at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, where 17 people were killed during a mass shooting in 2018. Police said his car was seen in Parkland on September 11.
Along with his note, police also seized a 9MM handgun that Horton said he stole from his mother.
Horton, who has a history of mental health problems, was taken to a hospital under Florida’s Baker Act, where he remained committed until his arrest on Thursday.
His mother, Marcie Horton, said she could not condone her son’s actions but asked officials to allow him to receive the mental health treatment he needed instead of facing charges for the disturbing plan.

He told WPF that his son was a “good kid” and would not actually carry out the plan.
“It’s not an excuse for what he wrote,” he said. “I didn’t say that, but he needs help.”
Alisha Horton’s stepmother, who was included as a potential victim in Horton’s plan, maintains her stepson’s innocence.
“Henry will not hurt me,” he told a local outlet. “He won’t… He needs to be treated for a mental defect and not as a criminal.”
Horton was charged with making threats with written threats to kill or injure another individual.
He was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail and remains held on a $1 million bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 6.
The Okeechobee County School District did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
