A Florida mother has been arrested and charged over a video that allegedly shows her hitting her son because he unbuckled his car seat.
Pamela Gladys Gaensel, 47, was arrested Wednesday and charged with child abuse without serious injury, NBC Miami reported.
He appeared in court Thursday, where prosecutors claimed he was caught on camera slapping his six-year-old son, leaving him bruised, the outlet continued.
Gaensel was seen pulling the child from her car by her hair on Tuesday before throwing her onto the sidewalk and then throwing a booster seat at her, prosecutors said, according to WESH.
An audible slap was apparently caught on surveillance cameras as Gaensel put the boy back in the car before dragging him back out, the outlet explained.
He then allegedly threw the object over his son’s head and into a nearby yard, only for the boy to go pick it up himself.

The boy cried and begged his mother to stop during the ordeal, NBC Miami said.
Gaensel’s two other children – ages 7 and 3 – were in the SUV during the alleged beating, WSVN added.
Police were alerted by an anonymous caller, who prompted them to visit Gaensel’s son at school where they saw marks on his body, the outlet said.
Gaensel was later detained by officers as he went to pick up the child from school.
Pamela Gladys Gaensel appeared in court and was released on $5,000 bond.
She later told police that she disciplined her son after he unbuckled her car seat.
“When law enforcement examined the child and saw that the child had marks on his back from being slapped, marks and bruises on the child’s face, arms and palms,” Assistant District Attorney Eric Linder told the outlet .
Ms. Gaensel claimed that this was essentially a disciplinary action, stating that she only spanked the child,” she continued.
The little boy screamed for his mother to stop as she hit him, prosecutors said.
“I would imagine that Ms. Gaensel is not aware, and this also refers to the strength of the evidence, that there appear to be private home owners, some individuals who have CCTV cameras. [that] record the entire incident.”
Gaensel was released on $5,000 bond, WSVN said.
His three children are now in the custody of their father.
