Food Network star and celebrity chef Michael Chiarello has died at the age of 61, after being rushed to hospital.
According to his family, Chiarello died surrounded by loved ones at Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa, where he was receiving treatment for an “acute allergic reaction.”
The family released a statement, saying the late chef will be remembered for his “culinary excellence, boundless creativity, and unwavering commitment to family.”

According to a statement from his company, Gruppo Chiarello, the former Food Network star died in Napa, California, where he was receiving treatment for an acute allergic reaction, which caused him to go into anaphylactic shock that led to his death.
A statement from his family read, “We are deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved patriarch Michael. Her culinary excellence, boundless creativity, and unwavering commitment to family are at the core of who she is.”
They continued: “She brought people together through the joy of sharing a meal, fostering lasting memories around the table. As we navigate this profound loss, we cherish the moments we cherished with her, both in her kitchen and in our hearts. Chiarello was born and raised in Red Bluff, California, in 1962. He is known for hosting food-related shows on networks such as the Food Network, PBS and the Cooking Channel.
