A former high school football star was tragically killed when he was hit by a stray bullet while working at a bar in Georgia, according to police.
Brianna Long, 21, was closing at The Pier in Remerton with co-workers when a fight outside led to gunfire around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Long was beaten while inside the establishment. He was taken to South Georgia Medical Center where he later died of his injuries, police said.
Many diners were outside the restaurant at the time of the incident and several vehicles were also hit by gunfire, the GBI said. No other injuries were reported.
No suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made, the GBI told The Post.
“We are continuing to follow and lead, interviewing witnesses we have identified and are processing evidence obtained from the scene,” said Special Agent in Charge Jamy Steinberg.

Long is a former standout football player at Paulding County High School, WSBTV reported.
While at PHS, Long was named the regional winner for Georgia’s Positive Athlete out of 5,000 student-athletes nominated for the award in the 2019-2020 school year.
She had attended Valdosta State University and was expected to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene in May 2024, according to her obituary.

“Brianna has an unmatched ability to light up a room and make everyone around her feel loved. With her infectious laugh and genuine personality, she never met a stranger,” her family wrote in an obituary.
“His genuine compassion and empathy endeared him to many, leaving an indelible mark on their lives.”
