Apparently, for some Republicans, all Donald Trump needs to win the support of Black voters is a pair of $400 gold shoes.
On Fox News, commentator Raymond Arroyo made wild claims, based on racist stereotypes about Black people, that because of his alleged love of shoes, they would vote for Trump in the next presidential election.
This comes after Trump proudly showed off his gold sneakers on social media, after selling out within days of his unveiling at Sneaker Con.

During an appearance on Fox News’ “The Big Weekend Show,” Arroyo made a startling analysis of black Americans and why they could potentially support former president Donald Trump in his bid for re-election.
Arroyo noted that Trump, who debuted a line of gold sneakers at the recent Sneaker Con, has connected with black people “culturally” because “they love sneakers.” He also claimed that the release of the $400 gold shoes caused black Americans’ support for President Joe Biden to decrease.
“Even the shoe thing. I was on social media last night. It’s interesting because you see Black support erode away from Joe Biden,” Arroyo said. “This relates to Black America because they love shoes… This is a big problem. Certainly in the city.”

He continued, “So when you ask Trump to launch his shoe line, they’re like, ‘Wait a minute, this is great.’ He reaches them on a level that defies and transcends politics. Culture always transcends politics, and Trump understands culture like no politician I’ve ever seen.”
During the show, Arroyo was later asked if people who like Trump’s shoes would vote for him, to which he replied, “Anybody who’s willing to drop $400 dollars on a pair of shoes, yeah, I think that’s commitment and love. . It’s something; that is love.”
Social Media Brands Analyze Arroyo ‘Racist’

On social media, users on X (formerly Twitter) were shocked by the claims, with many calling Arroyo “racist” and “ignorant” for thinking a pair of shoes would cause black Americans to vote for Trump.
One said, “Just when you thought they couldn’t get any more racist and they prove you wrong!”
Another wrote, “Fox news shows their pointy hoods again. Absolutely reprehensible.”
“Holy c— is it true? I am white and own a lot of shoes and boots. I will not vote for that racist post,” commented a third person.
“That sounds like a racial stereotype, which is racist,” said a fourth person.
Another X user slammed the interview as “insulting” for assuming people can be easily influenced to vote a certain way with “cheap” products.
“I heard this interview. This conversation offends me because it shows how FOX believes ANYONE can [be] rocking [to] voting a certain way with something so trivial as looking cheap [one] made in China, sold far above its value. VERY INSULTING,” said the individual.
