French high school where teacher was killed Friday evacuated over bomb alert

A high school in Arras, northern France, where a teacher was stabbed to death on Friday was evacuated on Monday morning following a bomb warning, a Reuters photographer at the scene saw.

A team of police explosives experts arrived at the scene.

Lycee Gambetta high school teachers and students gathered in the courtyard of the building opposite their school, as public protection staff cheered them on.

A 20-year-old man fatally stabbed a French teacher and wounded two others in an attack on Friday at the Lycee Gambetta in an attack that President Emmanuel Macron condemned as “barbaric Islamic terrorism.”

France was placed on the highest security alert following the attack.
