Fresh strike hits Houthi rocket launch site in Yemen: report

The new attack blew up a Houthi rocket launch site in Yemen’s Red Sea port city, according to sources with the Iran-backed group.

A Houthi military source told AFP the site hit was “from where Houthi rockets were launched” and was on the outskirts of Hodeida city.

The source said it was not yet clear whether it was an air or sea attack.

A US official told Al Arabiya that British American forces were not behind the latest attack.

Saturday’s attack came less than a day after the Navy destroyer USS Carney fired a Tomahawk missile at a Houthi radar site that had been used to target ships crossing the Red Sea, US Central Command said.

On Thursday, US and British forces carried out airstrikes on 60 Houthi targets in 28 locations, killing five and injuring six others.

A Houthi spokesman on Saturday promised a “resolute, strong and effective response” following Friday’s attack.
