Matthew Perry’s death certificate listed the actor’s cause of death as ‘delayed’ adding further mystery to the circumstances and cause of his death.
According to the death certificate obtained by The Blast, Perry’s official cause of death has been delayed pending further investigation and toxicology reports.
As we reported, the beloved “Friends” star mysteriously died on October 28 after she was found drowned in her jacuzzi. Perry is only 54 years old.
The document lists Perry’s 38-year career in the Entertainment industry and lists a “whistleblower” on her death as her famous stepfather Keith Morrison. The document also confirms he was buried at Forest Lawn in Los Angeles.
Last month, Perry was found dead by her assistant at her Los Angeles-area home, where she appeared to have drowned. He had just finished playing a game of pickles for 2 hours in his last vision. At the time, authorities confirmed that no foul play was involved, and no narcotics were found around him.

Police officers initially believed they were attending a possible “water rescue” at Perry’s Pacific Palisades home after the call came in at 4:07 pm PST Saturday. However, when they arrived, they found him unresponsive.
The late actor had a life of severe substance and alcohol abuse. She’s been quite open about her struggles, especially after the release of her memoir “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing.” Prior to her death, Perry claimed to be unconscious, and sources close to the late actor confirmed her sobriety after her passing.
However, prescription anti-depressants and anti-anxiety drugs were found at the scene. In addition to anti-anxiety and anti-depressant drugs, police also found prescription COPD drugs — drugs for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, usually used for people with emphysema or chronic bronchitis.
It has not been confirmed whether the drugs found contributed to Perry’s shocking death, but an autopsy is scheduled soon to resolve the issue. Following an autopsy, the cause of death was listed as “delayed” pending a toxicology report. This means that the authorities have to do blood work before coming to a conclusion about the exact cause of death.
Perry’s family mourned his heartbreaking loss in a statement released the day after he was found. “We are very saddened by the loss of our beloved son and brother. Matthew brings so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend.”

The statement concluded, “You all meant so much to him and we appreciate the incredible outpouring of love.” In addition, the main cast members of “Friends” – Lisa Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston, Dave Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, and Matt LeBlanc – who can be compared to his second family mourned his death in a joint statement.
“We are all very disappointed by the loss of Matthew. We are more than just an acting couple. We are a family. There is too much to say, but for now we will take some time to grieve and process this unexpected loss.”
The message continued, “In time, we will talk more, when we are able. For now, our thoughts and love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.” The message was later signed by Aniston, Cox, Kudrow, LeBlanc, and Schwimmer.
Matthew Perry Buried Surrounded by Actor Family & ‘Friends’
Six days after Perry died, he was laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles in an intimate memorial attended by family and close friends only.
His “Friends” stars, with the exception of Le Blanc, were all photographed looking somber and walking together to attend an apparent funeral. A few days before the funeral, Perry’s surviving sister and mother, Suzanne Perry, were in Forest Lawn, making preparations.
The resting place of the cast of “Fools Rush In” is particularly sentimental considering that it is across the street from Warner Bros. studios, where “Friends” was filmed. Forest Grass Memorial Park is also the resting place of many A-listers in the industry, including Michael Jackson, Carrie Fisher and Paul Walker.

While promoting his best-selling memoir last year, Perry said he wanted to be remembered as “a man who lived life, loved well, lived well and helped people. What I came across was a good thing and not a bad thing.”
