Gabby Petito’s Father Celebrates Her Second Heavenly Birthday, ‘Keep Shining That Light’

Gabby Petito will be 24 years old this year.

Sadly, the YouTube vlogger’s life was cut short at the hands of her fiance, Brian Laundrie.

He killed her at the age of 22 while they were on a cross-country trip visiting a National Park in the US.

Not a day goes by that his family doesn’t think of him or fight to honor him.

Since Gabby’s death, her father and mother, Joseph Petito and Nichole Schmidt, have dedicated their lives to helping find missing persons, victims of domestic violence and implementing laws to protect those who are harmed domestically.

On Sunday, March 19, Joseph took to Twitter to wish his late daughter a happy 24th birthday.

The tweet was accompanied by several pictures of Gabby as a child and up until her tragic death.

The day before, he shared another note about his daughter. He had one request on the eve of his daughter’s birthday.

One fan replied, “Happy Birthday in Heaven sweet Gabby. May your 24th Birthday be filled with Love and Light. You always and forever have a special place in my Heart. You awaken the hearts of millions around the world. You will be the first person I hug in Heaven one day. We Love You Gabby.”

Twitter user @GabbsJustice wrote, “Happy birthday in heaven to #GabbyPetito. Gabby’s family continues to honor her memory through advocacy, awareness, education and prevention with @gabbsfoundation.”

Many others did as Joseph instructed and reposted stories of missing persons.

Gabby’s family is set to face Brian’s family, Chris and Roberta Laundrie, this year in court; however, the trial of their civil suit has been postponed until next year.

Explosion recently reported on a minor setback for Gabby’s family.

The Petito-Schmidt family is suing the Laundrie family for learning more about their daughter’s death, and alleging that Chris and Roberta tried to help Brian flee the country.

Petito-Schmidt Civil Lawsuit Trial Postponed Until 2024!

They filed a lawsuit in March 2022.

Their lawsuit also alleges the Laundrie family deliberately ignored the Petito-Schmidt family’s pleas for help with Roberta and even blocked Nichole’s number and social media accounts.

Their original trial date for the civil suit was set for sometime in August; however, it will now take place in May 2024.

follow local news station WFLA, Petito-Schmidt’s lawyer, Patrick Reilly, asked that the trial be moved to December 2023.

Bertolino asked for the proceedings to begin sometime in the fall of 2024, and Matthew Luka, who is representing Kedai Dobi in the civil case, asked for the trial to begin between the two requested dates.

Laundrie’s legal team filed to dismiss the trial, but Judge Hunter W. Carroll denied it.
