James Gunn and Peter Safran have certainly shaken things up in the DC Universe. Late last year, fans were disappointed to hear that Gal Gadot had been “removed” as Wonder Woman, just as Henry Cavill was removed as Superman. But now, Gadot has some news, and it might make her fans happy…
Gal Gadot’s “Wonder Woman 3” Slipped Into 2022

Gadot first debuted as Diana Prince in 2016’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”. She headlined 2017’s “Wonder Woman” as well as its 2020 sequel, “Wonder Woman 1984,” which featured Chris Pine as her love interest, Steve Trevor. Both films were directed by Patty Jenkins. Gadot also made an appearance in “Justice League” as well as the Zack Snyder-led director’s cut that polarized audiences.
When Gunn and Safran took over DC Studios for Warner Bros, things went awry, as news came that “Wonder Woman 3” had been canceled. In December 2022, Jenkins submitted his treatment of the third “Wonder Woman” film, which he co-wrote with Geoff Johns. Allegedly, Gunn and Safran, as well as co-chairman and co-CEO of Warner Bros. Pictures Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy shot it down, telling Jenkins that the project was not aligned with the new direction and was still evolving for DC Studios. Jenkins also took to Twitter to explain what happened, explaining that it wasn’t his decision to make…

James Gunn also took to Twitter to provide a confused explanation, “So. As for yesterday’s story in the Hollywood Reporter, some are true, some are half-true, some are not true, & some we haven’t decided if they’re true or not.”
He too support Jenkinsreplied, “I can attest that all of Peter and my interactions with you have been pleasant and professional.”
But Now, Gal Gadot’s “Wonder Woman 3” Is In The Pipeline

In December 2022, just two days before word broke that Gadot might not be playing Wonder Woman again, she took to Instagram to celebrate the anniversary, writing, “On this day, several years ago, was the first announcement that I would be playing Wonder Woman . I am so grateful for the opportunity to play such an incredible iconic character, and more than anything I thank YOU. Fans. The greatest, warmest, most loving fans in the world.”
As there is currently no news of “Wonder Woman 3” being canceled, Gadot said, “I’m still pinching myself to see if I’m going to wake up. Can’t wait to share the next chapter with you.”
Then the news dropped and Gadot remained silent. Meanwhile, fans were further confused when he appeared in a cameo in “Shazam! Wrath of the Gods.” Surprisingly, her supposed appearance in “The Flash” starring Ezra Miller, where she was supposed to appear alongside Ben Affleck’s Batman and Henry Cavill’s Superman, was canceled.
In a recent interview, before the SAG-AFTRA strike, Gadot stated that as she understood it, she would take Wonder Woman further, along with Gunn and Safran.
“I love portraying Wonder Woman,” Gadot said. “It is very near and dear to my heart. From what I’ve heard from James and Peter is that we’re going to develop Wonder Woman 3 together.”
Since there is no “Wonder Woman 3” movie in development right now, what that means is still under wraps. For now, there is Chapter One of the DC Universe, called “Gods and Monsters.” There are also plans for a series, “Paradise Lost” based on the Amazons in Themiscyra. Additionally, Gunn has hinted that he is interested in developing a Wonder Woman animated series.

Fans Are Still Angry At DC For Dropping Henry Cavill

Meanwhile, although Dwayne Johnson claims credit for bringing back Henry Cavill, DC has firmly removed both superheroes for now. David Corenswet is confirmed to play Clark Kent in the upcoming film, “Superman: Legacy”, directed by Gunn with Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. When asked about it, he gave the politically correct answer, “I see that they’re testing, doing different screen tests, but I don’t know who got it, but it seems like everybody’s very legit and talented and, like, great . . . So I’m happy for them. It’s a really big experience and it’s an exciting start for any actor, and I hope that whoever ends up doing well and enjoying the journey.”
Fans were happy for Gadot but had issues with Cavill and Affleck being dropped, with many posting their disappointment on social media.
