During his latest appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Matarazzo, 20, talked about what life is like as he prepares to see the end of the series.
“It’s wonderful to be constantly reminded of how much it resonates with so many,” the actor said Insider. “I mean, it’s something that’s very important to all of us and just important to the growth that I experienced throughout my teenage years into my 20s. It was the defining aspect of the last 10 years of my life, almost the last decade.”

The host of the program then asked Matarazzo if it was “bittersweet” to say goodbye to the program.
He replied, “Of course it is. There’s a kind of excitement there because you always want to wrap it up and see how these characters will ultimately develop one last time and how they’ll end their journey.”
“But also, there is like a deep fear. Not only was it amazing, but it was pretty great job security for a while,” Matarazzo said as they both laughed. “Back to freelancing,” he added.

Some fans of the Netflix series took to social media to share their reactions to the season finale. “I’m so excited for season 5, sad it will be the last season, but the unknown is a part of me now,” wrote one fan.
“Can’t wait for season 5. Gaten is so spiritual, he doesn’t want to give spoilers to his character about what will happen in this final season,” said another fan. “He’s done an amazing job playing Dustin. Wish him all the best and hope to see him in other projects in the future.”
A rather pessimistic fan said, “I feel so bad that a lot of people are going to die next season! I’m not ready, but I’m ready. It’s going to be tough.”

‘Stranger Things’ Produces Gaten Matarazzo’s Health Condition In Script

Matarazzo has cleidocranial dysplasia (CCD), a rare genetic disorder that affects the growth of the jaw, skull, teeth, joints, and often the clavicle.
According to an interview with Esquirehe shared that the Duffer brothers factored his health into the film’s script.
“The segues into it are so natural. It makes me emotional to think how strangely accurate they are every season,” Matarazzo said, per Looper. “There’s always a little reference in the way of weird little jokes. That’s how I joke with my friends.”
Matarazzo has contributed significantly in raising awareness of this condition and has since founded a non-profit organization called CCD Smiles to assist in generating funds for victims’ surgeries.
