72-year-old Gerry Turner is gearing up for his “Golden Bachelor” journey.
Jesse Palmer, host of “The Bachelor” franchise, recently took to Instagram to announce that filming for the new spinoff series has officially begun. Many have wondered how the new show will compare to the rest of the “Bachelor” franchise, and now fans may have some answers as Turner opened up about what Fantasy Suite week will look like.

Fantasy Suite week is the week during the “Bachelor” journey that usually changes everything. If both show hosts and their contestants choose to leave their respective rooms, they can stay together in the Fantasy Suite, where they also get some time to themselves without any cameras around.
For the upcoming 72-year-old “Golden Bachelor,” Fantasy Suites may not look like what many Bachelor Nation members are used to seeing.
“I just think that Fantasy Suite for someone my age might look a little different,” Turner told ET ahead of her “Golden Bachelor” journey. “The activity may be quite different from someone in their 20s and 30s.”
He later explained that the potential Fantasy Suite activities “absolutely don’t” make him nervous, adding that “they make my daughter more nervous than me.” The 72-year-old leader shares two daughters, Angie and Jenny, with his late wife, Toni. He is also grandfather to two girls, Charlee and Payton.
Turner also recently talked about how the week-to-week dates can be seen and compared to the “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” series, saying, “I want the date to include some activity, so I know we can be involved together. It would be great if it’s an activity where I’ll know how well we can work together as a unit. Pickle dates or golf dates are great. I think that kind of reveals people’s character.”
“I kind of think about early dates, where we can talk about priorities, we can talk about whether the person is interested in marriage or not,” she added while on the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast. “There are many women my age who look at marriage and say you know, it’s a complication, do we have to get married to commit to each other? And it’s an interesting thought.”

The ABC press release continued, “Always a romantic, Turner married his high school sweetheart, Toni, in 1974. Together, they lived a full and happy life with their two daughters, Angie and Jenny, and later two granddaughters, Charlee and Payton. Unfortunately, after 43 years together, Toni suddenly fell ill and passed away in 2017.”

I want to be able to make mental notes or write in a log book at night some important things of the day, and remember those moments. And if I can do it, it will be a lot of fun.
The new series will air this fall on ABC. The exact date has not yet been announced.
