After his arrest, Davis was taken into custody in Fort Lauderdale and booked for a court hearing on Wednesday, December 28. Davis turned himself in to police days after the video went viral on Twitter, with many calling for his arrest. He was later charged with simple battery and domestic violence. His ex reportedly suffered injuries to his lips and jaw, according to a police report at the time.
In a now-deleted Instagram post, the boxer addressed the allegations, admitting that he was “aggressive” but denied ever hitting her. He wrote, “I never hit him,” Davis wrote. “Yes, I was aggressive and told her to come… That’s the mother of my child. I would never hurt him.”

At his December 12 appearance, a Baltimore Circuit judge denied a plea deal that would have helped Davis avoid jail time. He will be sentenced to house arrest for only 60 days.
The hit-and-run incident reportedly happened on November 5, 2020, and involved four people, including a pregnant woman. Davis has been charged with fleeing the scene and now faces 14 charges, including one count of failure to return and remain at the scene of an accident involving bodily harm.
