Hadid issued a statement on Instagram apologizing for a post she made that wasn’t “fact-checked.” Over the weekend, the Palestinian-American model made a now-deleted post accusing Israel of various crimes against Palestinian children before the October 7 Hamas attack.
In a lengthy statement on her social media, Hadid said, “As someone of Palestinian descent, the endless heartbreaking news and imagery coming out of Gaza has been painful and often heartbreaking.”
He continued, “It’s important to me to share real stories about the hardships Palestinians have endured and continue to endure, but this weekend I shared something I didn’t fact-check or think deeply about before reposting.”

Hadid wrote that she was simply trying to highlight how the Israeli government has allegedly violated international law in their treatment of Palestinians, especially when children are accused of crimes. He talks about how different Palestinian children are treated compared to Israeli children.
The model’s statement further read, “Unfortunately, I used the wrong example to make that point and I regret it. My focus is aimed at human rights issues. That is why I also want to reiterate that attacking any human being, which of course includes Jews, is NEVER OK. Taking innocent people hostage is NEVER OK. Hurting someone BECAUSE they are Jewish is NEVER OK. It’s wrong.”
Hadid wrote that it is important to her that Palestinians and Jews enjoy “freedom and humane treatment.” He said, “No matter the crime, when it comes to democracy, everyone should have the same rights – and a Palestinian child, even if he is accused of a horrific crime, deserves the same rights as an Israeli child in the same situation. .”

In her statement of apology, Hadid cited the heavy documentation done by human rights organizations on the persecution of Palestinians by the Israeli government. He wrote, “I know this historical issue well because it is the history of my own family. The Palestinians who were forced to leave their homeland in the late 1940s.”
However, the supermodel realized that she had made a mistake by not fact-checking the post.
“At the same time, I understand that with the power of my platform comes great responsibility. I’m human and I make mistakes. But I am also responsible for the mistake,” said Hadid.
He emphasized to his millions of fans that he does not stand for spreading misinformation and “always condemns using the Free Palestine movement as a justification for anti-Semitism.”
The 28-year-old ended the statement by saying that he will always pay attention to “violations of international law and human rights” and continues to pray for the peace and security of everyone in Gaza and Israel.
Israel And Hamas Accused Of Ceasefire Violations

Hadid’s controversial post and apology comes amid reports that Israel and Hamas have accused each other of violating their ceasefire agreement. A ceasefire has been in place since November 24 to give the civilian population seven weeks of peace amid the ongoing war.
Hamas spokesman Abu Obaida issued a statement on Telegram earlier today regarding Israel’s actions. It reads, per Metro, “As a result of the enemy violating the terms of the ceasefire today, there was a field clash today and our mujahidin dealt with the violation. We are committed to a cease-fire as long as the enemy remains.”
Instead, IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari accused Hamas of activating three explosive devices near Israeli troops stationed in Gaza. He said, “At one of the locations, the terrorists also opened fire on the soldiers, who responded with fire. A number of soldiers were slightly injured during the incident. In both incidents, troops were deployed in positions according to the operational pause framework.”
Amidst the ceasefire, both sides have managed to free more than 51 Israeli hostages and 115 Palestinians imprisoned by the Israeli government.
