Meet Gigi White, Yes Drummer Alan White’s Wife
Gigi White married the love of her life Alan White on May 15, 1982, almost a decade after Alan joined the band Yes. The couple went on to cherish more than 40 years of married life until Alan died on May 26, 2022 — 11 days after their 40th wedding anniversary.
According to Gigi, her husband breathed his last at their Seattle-area home “after a brief illness.”
Additionally, Gigi and her children, later, took to Alan’s Facebook to write a lengthy tribute, recalling his impressive accolades throughout his six-decade career. They shared that throughout the 1960s, Alan honed his craft with various bands, including The Downbeats, The Gamblers, Billy Fury, Alan Price Big Band, Bell and Arc, Terry Reid, and many others. And in 1968, he joined Ginger Baker’s Airforce, a new group put together by the former Cream drummer and other famous musicians from the English music scene including Steve Winwood.
Apparently in 1969, Alan also received a phone call from John Lennon asking him to join the Plastic Ono Band. And the next day, he was learning the song in the back of a plane headed to Toronto with Lennon, Yoko Ono, Eric Clapton, and Klaus Voormann.
So, after touring the world with John Lennon, Alan was then asked by George Harrison to perform on the album All Things Must Pass, and he went on to work with many artists for the Apple label.
Finally, on July 27, 1972, Alan then joined Yes, and he was with the group until the day of his death.
Overall, Alan was many things to many people — a certified rock star to fans around the world; a band mate to a select few, and a man and friend to all who meet him.

As of 2022, their daughter Cassi is married to Kela White, and together, they live in Marysville, Washington with their 2 adorable dogs.

In contrast, her husband Allan was born on June 14, 1949, making him 72 at the time of his death.

Gigi White did not disclose her occupation. It’s possible that she didn’t pursue a career at all because she had to stay at home to take care of the kids because Alan was often away on tour.
However, as we children grow up, Gigi seems to have accompanied her husband on some of his visits. The last time we saw her with Alan was in attendance at the 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.
Before that, he appeared in the documentary Yesspeak (2003), and he also graced the stage of Fox After Breakfast (1996).

Gigi White comes from a family of at least five people. Unfortunately, his parents have passed away.
In addition, his sister Mindy joined their parents in heaven in June 2015. To recall, Mindy is a designer and craftswoman who designed some of Alan’s machines. Reportedly, until the day of his death, he was designing and producing unique gifts and handicrafts.
As for Gigi’s other sister, Andrea Holmqvist is alive and well in 2022. Last time we checked, she was working as a broker at Windermere Real Estate/East, Inc and living in Seattle, Washington with her husband Robert @robert.holmqvist .14.
In addition, Andrea is Gigi’s younger sister. She was born on November 10, 1963. While her husband Robert was born in 1967.
