“Girls5Eva” is now one step closer to living 5eva!

The comedy show, which chronicles the many (mis)adventures of a ’90s girl group as they navigate the modern music industry, is getting a new lease of life as it moves to a new streaming service!

“Girls5Eva” premiered last spring on the Peacock.

The NBCUniversal streaming service aired the first two seasons of the series, but it looks like the Peacock “Girls5Eva” era is over.

There will be no sudden record scratches here! “Girls5Eva” has found a new home and will live on through one of the most popular streaming services available.

Read on to learn more about the good news!

What Happened Between Peacock And ‘Girls5Eva?’

“Girls5Eva” tells the story of a group of girls who persevere, despite the odds stacked against them. It turns out that the show itself is now suffering a similar fate!

According to Deadline, “Girls5Eva” was quietly canceled by Peacock earlier this year.

The outlet also revealed that the cult TV series “is not one of the most watched shows and does not bring in the same audience as the [Peacock] dramas ‘Bel Air’ and ‘Dr. Death has occurred.”

Deciding the fate of “Girls5Eva” was reportedly a difficult decision for Peacock.

Deadline has learned Peacock’s plan of action regarding the series’ fate as well, revealing “The streamer had to make the difficult decision to prioritize other shows and cancel them after the second season ends in June.”

‘Girls5Eva’s New Home Faces a Challenging Year

Despite the seemingly bleak prognosis for the series’ survival chances, the series was later saved by a very popular streaming service and the cast and crew were happy!

In a year when one of the biggest and most popular streaming services available has faced several obstacles, the arrival of “Girls5Eva” is very interesting for Netflix.

Earlier this summer, The Blast saw a string of ups and downs for the company, which involved a large number of layoffs and a surprising number of customer cancellations.

We also reported on a company memo sent to employees that expressed a desire to “Ensure only our highly effective staff” remain in the company.

An excerpt from the memo reads, “As employees, we support the principle that Netflix offers a diversity of stories, even if we find some titles conflict with our personal values.”

The company also issued a word of warning for employees who may take issue with the aforementioned ingredients.

“Depending on your role, you may have to work on topics you consider dangerous. If you find it difficult to support the breadth of our content, Netflix may not be the place for you,” the message also stated.

Our previous report also detailed the company’s intention to implement a stricter set of rules on password sharing. Customers are also unhappy with Netflix’s decision to go ahead with increasing their monthly subscription costs.
