Grand Ole Opry Will Host Star-Studded Celebration Of Life For Leslie Jordan!

Leslie Jordan’s lively and passionate legacy lives on.

Nearly three months after his death in October 2022, one of Tennessee’s most historic landmarks is paying tribute to the “Will & Grace” actor.

The Grand Ole Opry will host “Reportin’ For Duty: A Tribute To Leslie Jordan,” on February 19.

The event will include live music, on-stage storytelling and additional performances by Jordan’s friends and colleagues from across the entertainment industry.

Tickets for the event are on sale on the Opry website.

In 2021, Jordan released his first gospel album titled, “Company’s Comin.’”

Music performances will be performed by musicians who worked with Jordan on his debut album.

Several Celebrities Will Take The Stage To Sing For Jordan

Brandi Carlile, Ashley McBryde, Eddie Vedder, Travis Howard, and TJ Osborne of Brothers Osborne will all perform. Maren Morris, Brittney Spencer, Billy Strings, Lukas Nelson, and Danny Myrick will join them to honor Jordan’s passion for life and music.

Proceeds from the event will benefit an organization near and dear to Jordan’s heart, the EB Research Partnership.

Last year, the “Call Me Kat” star was commemorated in her hometown of Chatanooga, TN. on November 20, 2022.

Jordan’s family, friends and hundreds of fans came to honor him.

The memorial was held at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium.

Her official Instagram account announced the commemoration with a black-and-white photo of Leslie as a child along with her latest photo.

The caption read, “We will never say goodbye. We will keep you alive in our memories and with your stories. Funeral and Memorial, 11/20/22 — Chattanooga, Tennessee.”

Actress Lucy Hale commented, “❤️✨??.”

Country band Little Big town commented on a bunch of red heart emojis as did Michelle Pfiefer.

Linda Thompson wrote, “Beautiful sweet Leslie! How you are missed! You still have the same cherub look you had when you were a kid! ❤️??????.”

“When there’s a seismic impact, you can’t avoid continuing to feel the vibrations. Keep living, Leslie.?,” replied another.

Actor Justin Long commented, “If there is a way to access Instagram in the afterlife, I think Leslie is checking these messages and being “ticked” by them. I remember referring to people who follow her here as “followers” and she corrected me,” I prefer to call them ‘friends,'” he said. When I was able to hang out with him in Chattanooga, I watched him treat fans who would approach him with kindness and humor – as you would a friend. The joy and happiness of his life will always be with me – and so will his unique voice when I say the words “good” and “damn” in order ?❤️.”

Tickets are $20 each and all proceeds go to CEMPA Community Care.

CEMPA Community Care has established the Leslie Jordan Memorial Fund whose mission is to “champion healthy communities by providing affordable, compassionate and high-quality care through advancing comprehensive support services and person-centered best practices.”

Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly said, “If Leslie were here with us today, I would like to thank her for her contribution to our culture throughout her acting career, for carrying us through the dark days of the epidemic with her wicked sense of humor, and for always inviting us into his heart and world,” said Kelly. “Leslie opened herself up to all of us and never stopped sharing the love and light she brought.”

Leslie died on October 24 after suffering a “medical emergency” behind the wheel of his BMW. He lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the side of a building in Hollywood, California. Leslie was on her way to the set of “Call Me Kat” at the time of the accident.

His Instagram account continues to post pictures and videos of the late actor to bring light and joy to his six million followers.
