Nationals player Aaron Dessner pays tribute to his friend, Taylor Swift, on a big day for her career!
Dessner, 47, has been Swift’s creative partner for years now. The Big Red Machine musician first collaborated with the songstress on her 2020 album “folklore,” which was recorded and released amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
He will follow the “folklore” by working on his ‘sister’ LP “evermore,” which was released in December after the former album was released in July.
Dessner has also been Swift’s special guest during several dates on ‘The Eras Tour,’ including the third rain-soaked Nashville date!
In addition to producing several songs on the aforementioned record, Dessner also produced and helped write four songs on Swift’s “Midnights” LP, due out in October 2022.
The very busy producer took some time out of his schedule on Friday, July 7th, to put his words to his “dear friend and collaborator’s” latest release, “Speak Now (Taylor Version)” which was released on the same day!
Swift Commemorates ‘Speak Now (Taylor Version)’ Release
After dedicating several posts on her Instagram feed to the release of “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version),” the “Sparks Fly” singer finally celebrated the big day on Friday!
The Blast took a look at some of Swift’s new photos to hit Instagram on the big day, including a carousel of photos from her star-studded Independence Day celebration.
Swift gave her followers a glimpse into the album’s creative process in the photo’s caption. The original version of the album was released in 2010.

“It’s here. It’s yours, it’s mine, it’s ours,” she began, “It’s an album I wrote alone about the desires, fantasies, heartaches, dramas, and tragedies I went through as a young woman between 18 -20. I remember making playlist after playlist, obsessing over the right way to tell a story,” Swift wrote.
“I had to be ruthless with my choices,” the pop princess continued, “and I left out some songs that I’m still proud of now. So you have 6 songs From The Vault! I recorded this album when I was 32 years old (and still growing up, now) and the memories it brings fill me with nostalgia and appreciation,” revealed Swift.
“For life, for you, because I can reclaim my work. Thank you a million times, for the memories that broke our fall…” he would conclude.
Dessner Celebrates Swift’s Big Day!
Posting both the cover and the back of the record, Dessner wrote, “Big congratulations to my friend @taylorswift on the release of her version of Speak Now… I had the absolute pleasure and honor to produce three vault songs on the Album with Taylor: Foolish One (Taylor Version), When Emma Falls In Love (Taylor Version), and Electric Touch (Feat. Fall Out Boy) (Taylor Version).”
“I am very grateful for every opportunity I have had to work with Taylor and I am always inspired by the example she sets for all artists that you have the right to own your own work and chart your own path without compromise,” he added. “Thanks as always to everyone who contributed to this recording!”
He will also be tagging the Instagram accounts of those involved with the record’s production!
