Greta Thunberg was seen grinning as the climate activist was detained by London police and dragged into a van after she was arrested at an oil protest.
The 20-year-old Swede was wearing a gray beanie and puffer coat as two officers led him into a police van with more than a dozen people arrested, according to The Guardian.
Six were arrested for obstructing the highway, while another 14 were arrested for disturbing public order.
Thunberg joined hundreds of other protesters for the Oily Money Out protest outside the five-star hotel, the InterContinental. The protest was organized by Fossil Free London, a climate campaign group.
“Behind closed doors at this oil and money conference, spineless politicians make deals and compromises with lobbyists from the destructive industry, the fossil fuel industry,” the activist told reporters.
“People all over the world are suffering and dying as a result of the climate crisis caused by this industry that we allow to meet our politicians and have privileged access to.”

Delegates had to be escorted into the hotel by police officers as protesters held placards and shouted “greasy money out” and “cancel the conference,” while some lit yellow and pink smoke flares.
Delegates were told by text not to enter the hotel without a police escort. “For your own safety, do not attempt to cross the protest line,” the text read, according to The Guardian, which obtained it.
Protesters are expected to stay outside the hotel for the entire three-day conference.

This is not the first time Thunberg has been busted. He was also arrested in July at a Swedish protest. Earlier this year, he was also charged with sedition for blocking an oil tanker for six days.
He was also detained in Norway during police protests in March.
Thunberg inspired the world in 2018 when she continued to protest outside the Swedish Parliament.

Since then he has inspired several other global youth movements fighting for climate change.
