Elon Musk’s former partner and baby mama Grimes have spoken out about a proposed “cage fight” between the billionaire and business partner Mark Zuckerberg.
Fans will recall that while the billionaires have been provoking each other in recent months, Musk challenged Zuckerberg on social media in June to a cage fight, promising it would be broadcast live.
Grimes didn’t seem to agree with the upcoming clash and voiced his reasons. However, he believes the fight will lead to both parties reaching a place of respect in their relationship.
Grimes Believes Elon Musk & Mark Zuckerberg Need ‘Some Outlet To Trad Masculinity’ Amid Cage Fight Drama
The Canadian singer, who shares two children, X and Exa, with Musk, chatted with WIRED focusing on her career and relationship with her baby daddy while also discussing the father-of-ten’s cage fight with Zuckerberg.

When asked his thoughts on the subject and whether the battle would happen, he said, “I think so. Elon is very strong, but Zuck looks like he’s trained a ton.”
However, Grimes also insisted that she would prefer it not happen even though she has a thing for “gladiator matches.”
Explaining his reasoning, he mentions that “seeing the father of your children in a physical fight is not the most pleasant feeling,” but since it won’t cause “brain damage,” he’s okay with it.
In his words, “So, actually, I think this is great. Guys need some outlets for trad masculinity. I told Sam Altman there needs to be a follow-up, he’s against Demis [Hassabis].” Hassabis is the head of Google’s Deep Minds
The Vancouver-born record producer further emphasized his belief that a “cage fight” would make Musk and Zuckerberg “respect each other more,” which the interviewer seemed skeptical of.
Grimes later explained that he had to take credit for the SpaceX founder’s social media post, challenging the CEO of Metaverse to a “d*ck measuring contest.” Although he doesn’t stand behind his exact words, he just encouraged him to “get on with it and get out the ruler” but never thought he would post something about it. The 35-year-old songstress refers Musk tweeted on July 10.
Zuckerberg Not Holding His Breath For Fighting With Musk
While Grimes believes that the much-anticipated fallout between the two tech powerhouses is about to happen, that doesn’t seem to be the case for Meta’s founders.

Over the weekend, the tech mogul got into a back-and-forth on social media when Musk tweeted on his X app, formerly Twitter, that he was training “all day.” Zuckerberg, not believing his statement, used his newly created Threads app to write,
“I’m ready today. I suggested August 26 when he challenged, but he didn’t confirm. Not holding my breath.”
It’s no news that the two’s feud started with the launch of a new social media app Threads, making them direct competitors. While people wondered if the fight was mutually agreed upon, Zuckerberg once told fans it was more like “guaranteed funding” as a shot at Musk.
Afterward, the Neuralink co-founder said of the possible event: “The exact date is still in flux,” given that he may need neck and upper back surgery. In his words, “The exact date is still in flux. I’m having an MRI of my neck & upper back tomorrow. May need surgery before the fight can happen. Will know this week.”
Fans can expect to watch the match live on X, with Musk saying so, adding that any profits from the episode will go to veterans’ charities. When asked about the purpose of the fight by user X, the 52-year-old philanthropist said, “It is a civilized form of warfare. Men love war.”

Meanwhile, Zuckerberg doesn’t seem to support live streaming of fights on X because he feels “a more reliable platform that can actually raise money for charity” is a better option.
Dana White Confirms Billionaire Investor Will Fight In Las Vegas
As fans are still skeptical about the upcoming “cage fight” between Musk and Zuckerberg, the president of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Dana White, assured them that it is set to take place in Las Vegas.
In June, White revealed during an interview that each challenger had called him the night before the interview and was “dead serious about this.” He also pointed out that having two media figures in the UFC octagon would be one of the most memorable fights in history because it would be the most watched.
“The biggest fight of all time is Floyd and Conor,” he said. “I think it’s triple — it triples what it does. There’s no limit to what that thing can do.”

The Manchester native went on to guarantee that there will be no silliness during the match, given the martial arts skills of the competitors.
