Heather Rae & Tarek El Moussa have talked about their parenting styles!
The reality stars warmed the hearts of their millions of fans when they announced the arrival of their first child — a boy — together. Tarek and Heather took an extra two weeks before revealing the little boy’s face and name, Tristan Jay, on social media. The couple’s new arrival joins Tarek’s two other children — Brayden and Taylor — who he shares with ex-wife Christina Hall.

Tarek and Heather have been over the moon since they welcomed Tristan into the world on January 31, often sharing updates on their new journey. The happy parents did it again when they opened up about life with their newborn, with Heather saying:
“I’m totally obsessed with Tristan. This new mommy is hard but beautiful. I enjoyed all the firsts and really got to know him.”
Her husband said that their three-week-old son has a “big personality” while being an “active little guy.” The “Flip or Flop” alum added that Heather “is a rock star [mum]” which he loved watching bond with their son.

Although Taylor and Brayden bonded with Tristan before his arrival, “The Flipping El Moussas” star reminded them that all children in the household are loved equally. In addition, they need to learn how to balance parenting styles in the home. As told by Tarek TODAY:
“Heather is more assertive than me, that’s for sure. I play games and wrestle with the kids. When he said, ‘OK, it’s bedtime,’ I was like, ‘OK, five more minutes!’ But then, I will enforce the rules.”
His wife of 35 years said it would be easy for people to assume that he would be “more strict,” but he was “definitely stricter as far as schedules and keeping everything on track.” After stating that it was “sort of” her job, the “Selling the Sunset” star admitted that they were “very good parents together”.

Shortly after Tristan’s arrival, The Blast noted that the mother was eager to share her breastfeeding experience with her three million followers. The “Love in the Time of Machines” actress took to her Instagram page to share two pictures of her newborn baby sleeping.
The first image features a picture of a toddler wearing a blue beanie, matching pants and black boots. As for her top, she was styled in a white top with “new to the El Moussa crew” engraved on it.
Heather’s next slide shows a close-up of her cute face as she rests her hands on her chest and sleeps. The doting new mom wrote below the photo:
“New to the El Moussa crew ???. Mother life stares at it endlessly because I can’t get enough ??.”

The model later expressed her joy at hugging her son for the first time, writing, “The moment I hold him in my arms, he becomes my world.” She later mentioned that she was considering “sharing some things like my breastfeeding experience.”
While she debates doing that — and enjoys cuddling with Tristan — her husband keeps the older kids involved with a little fun. According to The Blast, the father of three had taken his son and daughter to the snowy mountains to ski.
In a post he shared on Instagram, Tarek took a selfie of himself, his children, and their cousin, Malia. All the younger participants seemed excited to be outdoors, gathering around the real estate investor. The caption reads:
“Ski day with my snow monster !!! It was great to take Tay, Bray, and their cousin Malia on a weekend trip to the mountains ?⛷️?❤️.”
The 41-year-old revealed that he and his mother had gone to their cabin over the weekend. “Just missing you @theheatherraeelmoussa – and only a few more years until Tristan joins us on the slopes!! I can’t wait!❤️,” he concluded.
“You are the best father. ❤️❤️❤️,” one fan praised in the comments section, while another wrote, “Well done, dad ??? you’re doing an amazing job. Being able to see the love for your family motivates you ♥️.”
Even his wife took to the comments section to write, “We miss you all ❤️❤️❤️.” The post has also received over 20k likes.
