The “Spider-Man: Homecoming” actor and Katy Perry recently spoke on his “Goop” podcast about all things dating, relationships and marriage.
Paltrow, 50, shared her thoughts on teenagers ruining relationships, saying, “It’s hard in relationships. Like I’ve looked back now at like a data set of parents with young kids and it’s just… damaging relationships.”
“It’s so hard!” he added per Page Six.
Perry, for her part, agreed with the actress but offered her thoughts on the way forward. She admits that the dynamic really changes after having children, but as long as couples are “willing to work, they can forge a path forward.”
“I think if both people in the relationship are willing to do the work then it will be easier,” the “Roar” singer said.
“But if someone thinks they don’t have any work to do then it’s going to be very challenging.”

Although being a mother comes with its fair share of challenges and sacrifices, Paltrow and Perry agree that it has been a very valuable part of their lives.
Paltrow shares two teenagers—daughter Apple, 18, and son Moses, 16—with ex-husband Chris Martin. She is also a co-parent to two teenagers from her current husband, Brad Falchuk, from a previous marriage: Isabella, 18, and Brody, 16.
“I never felt lonely again after I had it [Apple] … and I felt very lonely in my life,” Paltrow recounted.
Perry, who has daughter Daisy, 2, with her actor partner, Orlando Bloom, shared similar sentiments and insisted that she felt “so lost” and that everything she did was “not enough” until a child came into the picture.

As time passed, he finally decided to put aside all his worries and open his arms to them as his children. He was no longer afraid to “love” or “discipline” the Falchuk children, as he had previously claimed.
“If someone asked me for advice about it, I would just say from day one, just treat them as your child,” Paltrow said. “I just wish I had done it sooner.”

The Golden Globe winner had her husband raving about her, calling her a “fantastic” stepmother and praising her for bonding with her children. “They talk to you all the time, they come to you for advice all the time, they depend on you,” the “Glee” co-creator recounted.
Additionally, Falchuk referred to Chris Martin, Paltrow’s ex-husband, as “a great dad” to Apple and Moses. The screen producer said of the 45-year-old Coldplay frontman, “He loves them and spends time with them and all that stuff,” adding that he’s “not necessarily their father.”
